Robert Marion Allen
Robert Marion Allen, 68, of Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 in Poteau. Robert was born in Williams, OK on December 30, 1941 to Oren D. & Margaret (Ray)Allen. Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church of Poteau, OK. He was a lineman for OG&E until his retirement after 241/2 years of service; a 32nd Degree Mason, and was a Poster Child for the March of Dimes in 1953-1954 (He was a polio survivor) Robert loved bowling, coaching baseball & watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals & OU sports. He was preceded in death by his parents & 1 sister, Doris Kelley.
Survivors include his son, Robert David Allen of Poteau, OK; daughter & son in law, Diane Rea & Will Thompson of Spiro, OK, sisters & brother in law, Margaret Singleterry of Poteau, OK, Sue & Bill Grosskopf of Delaware; half brother, O.D. Allen Jr. of Coal Hill, AR, 4 grandchildren, Ross Allen, Reed Allen, Jenny Allen & Jessica Fair; great grandson, Jon Carter Allen; devoted & trusted canine companion, Noodle; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services were held 2 pm, Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 Tuesday eveing, April 20 to visit with relatives & friends.

Jocile Camp Mitchell, 91, of Hinsdale, Illinois, and formerly of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Hinsdale. Jocile was the loving mother of Charlotte Anne Mehuron and mother-in-law of Bill Mehuron. She is survived by two grandchildren, Sue Gibbons of Western Springs, IL and Geoff Nyheim of Hinsdale and their spouses John Gibbons and Nancy Nyheim. She had seven great grandchildren: Megan, Heather and Caroline Nyheim and Conor, Grace, Griffen and Delaney Gibbons. She is survived by one older sister, Eunice Turman of Poteau, OK numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was born in Greenwood, AR on September 8, 1918, the daughter of Matt & Ida Camp. She had two other sisters and six brothers, all deceased. She spent much of her life in Northern California and the last three years near her daughter and grandchildren in Illinois. Funeral services were held in Hinsdale on Saturday, April 10. She will be buried in Poteau, OK. Visitation will be at Evans & Miller Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm. Graveside services will be held 11 am, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Oakland Cemetery pavilion in Poteau, OK with interment following.
