
Lester Levoy Martin, 89, of Poteau, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 in Poteau. Lester was born on May 22, 1920 in Isabella, Oklahoma to Edward Riley & Rebecca (Bierig) Martin. He was a farmer & rancher, a member of the NRA & the Kansas Hunting Association.
Lester is survived by his wife of 45 years, Caral (Craft) Martin of the home; 3 daughters & sons in law, Carrie & David Carberry of Poteau & their daughters, Caitlin, Blake, Leslie & Jamie & their grandson Carson, all of Poteau, OK; Susanne & John Johnston of League City, Texas; Dena & T.W. Wilson of Checotah, OK; 2 sons & daughter in law, Dion & Debbie Wilkens & Dale Wilkens, all of Independence, KS; 2 sisters, Irene Sharpe of Tulsa, OK & Wanda Bisel of Ashland, KS; 4 brothers C.A. Martin, Larry Martin, & Jack Martin, all of Wichita, KS & Lonnie Martin of Halstead, KS; numerous other grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones and many beloved friends.
Graveside services for Lester were held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Bierig Cemetery in Okeene, OK with the Reverend Ed Cunningham officiating. Interment followed the services with arrangements under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, OK.
