Jane Scott


           Edna “Jane”  Scott, 76, of Howe, Ok passed away January 10, 2020 in Heavener, Oklahoma. Jane was born in Lehigh, OK on September 30, 1943 to Dave & Eunice [Powers] Clark. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her son Marvin Spray, sisters BennyJo, Carol, Wanda, Ruth, Judy, Linda and one brother David. Jane loved to cook, crochet, play Bingo and dominos. She was an amazing homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.        

          Survivors include her husband and soulmate of 32 years, Ernie Scott;  son Brian Scott and wife Sinnia of Poteau, OK; daughters, Darla Masterson of Poteau Ok. Misti Scott,  Tina Martinez both of Ponca City, OK; grandchildren Gary Hecht and wife Donna, Courtney Gibson, Ashley Masterson, Breana Samuels, Brent Burton, Britney Burton all of Poteau, OK, Chandra Hidalgo and Tiara Scott both of Ponca City, OK;  1 sister Opal Ellison of Van Buren, AR; 2 brothers, Robert Clark of Purcell, OK and Thomas Clark of Pauls Valley, OK; 10 great grandkids and other relatives & loved ones and many beloved friends.    

          Services: 2 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2020 Shepherds Heart Church located at 1403 South McKenna Poteau Ok. with Rev. Clyde Hess and Rev. Nick Hess officiating. Burial at Oakland Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Gary Hecht, Brian Scott, Robbie Clark, Brent Burton and Stanley Davis.

Bill Goodrich


Ira William “Bill” Goodrich, 63, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Poteau.  Bill was born December 11, 1956 in Binghamton, NY to Ira “Ike” Mason & Lillian Mae (Baker) Goodrich.  He was a mechanic.  Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Craighill and father, Ike Goodrich; sister, Kathleen Goodrich; half brother, Michael Goodrich; stepfather, Martin O’Hara.

Survivors include his sons, Martin Goodrich & Katie Keosouvanh of Ft. Smith, AR, Jason & Miranda Goodrich, Matthew & Kayli Goodrich;  grandchildren, Sky & Zoe Goodrich, Colby Goodrich all of Poteau, OK; brothers, John Goodrich of Redmond, OR, Gordon Baker of Kalispell, MT, David O’Hara West Fir, OR, Stephen Goodrich of Florida;  his former wife and friend, Ramona Goodrich of Poteau; and friend, Larry Condon of Poteau; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Sue Boatright


       Kathleen "Sue" Boatright died on December 25, 2019 at the age of 93.   Sue was born in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Louis and Addie Waddle on 23 March 1926, then moved with them and her sister, Imogene, to Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1936 where she attended her school years.



          In 1942 Sue married Leo Boatright, who enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.  They moved often throughout his military career and his last assignment was at George Air Force Base in California where Sue worked and retired from Civil Service.



          In 2001 they moved back to Eufaula, Oklahoma in the  suburb of Longtown, where they resided until Leo's death in 2012.  Sue then moved to Talihina, Oklahoma, to live with her son, Terry Boatright, and his wife, Sherri.



          Sue is survived by her son, Terry Boatright, and his wife, Sherri, of Talihina, Oklahoma and by her daughter, Judith Ann Maxwell, and her husband, Joe, of Parker, Colorado.  Sue had four grandsons, William Boatright, Travis Boatright, Scott Maxwell and Todd Maxwell and many great grandchildren.



          Burial arrangements were made by Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, OK.  Sue will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.  The family requests that no flowers, donations, etc. be sent at Sue’s request.  There will be no service, also at Sue's request

Dorothy Clark


  Dorothy Louise Clark, 78, of Panama, OK passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Panama.  Dorothy was born June 30, 1941 in California to Ellie & Euthel (Winters) Coker.  She enjoyed quilting and sewing.  Dorothy attended Bethel Lighthouse Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed watching her grandkids play basketball and she loved her dog Little Bit.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gail Matlock, Joyce Darneal, Patricia Owens and Velta Hunter; brothers, Royal, Bill, Lige, Loyal & Dale Coker.

          Survivors include her husband, Wesley H. Clark of the home;  daughter, Debbie McDaniel; son, Wesley D. Clark all of Panama; grandkids, Latisha & Kyle Quick of Mansfield, AR, Allen & Tabitha Clark of Ft. Smith, AR, Ashley McDaniel of Panama, Megan & Richie Swearingen of Alma, AR, Lacee Clark; great grandkids, Marrisa Quick, Quentin Clark, Kerrington Quick, Jaylei Downs, Allen Quick, Scarlett Clark; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
          Services will be 11 am, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 graveside at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK with Gertie Hill officiating.  Pallbearers will be Allen Clark, Kyle Quick, Richie Swearingen, Tommy Dewitt, Wesley D. Clark, Dylan Swearingen, Devin Swearingen.  Honorary pallbearers will be Quentin Clark and Allen Quick.
          The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Philip Arter


Philip Ray Arter, 82, of Bokoshe, OK passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Philip was born December 26, 1938 in Bokoshe to Elbert Green & Reva Fern (Beshers) Arter.  He was a coal miner and a truck driver.  Philip was a veteran of the US Army.  He was preceded in death by wives, Linda Polcic Arter & Joy Tankersley Arter; daughters, Janet Powers and Lisa Arter as well as two sisters.



Survivors include his grandson, Allen Arter and son in law, Ricky Powers; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Monday, January 6, 2020 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Michael Monroe officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Cache Cemetery, Keota.  Pallbearers will be Jerry Sides, Mike Brown, Jon Ollie, Ronnie Kingsborough, Jeremy Kingsborough, Stephen Branham.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Tankersley, Harold Statham, Johnny Bell, Sonny Tackett, Tracy Saling, Gregg Perdue and Jim Gist.
