Johnny Doss Creek

Johnny Doss Creek, 66, of Spiro, OK passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Little Rock, AR.  Johnny was born December 16, 1952 in Wichita, KS to Doss Edward & Marian Grace (Brown) Creek.  He was a veteran  of the US Navy.

          Survivors include his sisters, Shelia Lind  & Pamala Parker of  Spiro, OK, Marilyn Downs of Panama, OK & Retha Green of Stephensville, TX; brother, Rick Creek of Marion, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 10 am, Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK.  Interment will follow at Shady Point Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Kendall, Jeremy & Justin Downs, Kyle Green, Shawn & Steve Dees and Larry Hale.

Betty Slone

Betty J. Slone, 73, of Poteau, Ok passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Poteau.  Betty was born September 8, 1945 in Borger, TX to Thomas & Amanda Mae (Bland) Bailey.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sadie White & brother Billy Bailey; sons, Matthew, Mark & Timmy; grandmother, Bonnie Adcox.

          Survivors include her husband, Arnold of the home; daughters, Paula Mize & spouse Dale of Springdale, AR, Amanda Akins & spouse Jimmy of Poteau; sons, Thomas Slone & spouse Dawn of Red Oak, OK, Randy Slone & spouse Angie of Sweet Home, OR, Paul Slone & spouse Diana of Poteau; grandchildren, Macy, Dalton & Shelby Mize, Michelle Slone, Tyler Slone & wife Rachel, Christal Slone,  Stephanie, Jessica & Domique Slone, Chelsea Bruce & husband Devon, Casey, Trevor Slone, Nicholas Slone & wife Kimberly, Lindee Smith & husband Cade, Alexus Cruse & husband Ryder, Madilyn Akins, Trenton Akins, Sara  Norell, Jodie Collins, Larry & Joe Kirkland, Ronnie Slone, Samantha Bonnel; great grandkids,  Abby, Conner, Cooper, Casey, Brooklyn & Jesse Slone, Kailie  Gillisipee, Landon Bruce, Dayton, , Lucas; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Memorial services will be 11 am, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 graveside at Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, OK.

BOB THOMPSON

Robert L. Thompson “Bob”, 63, of Poteau, OK passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 in Poteau.  Bob was born July 26, 1955 in Poteau to Durfey Sr. & Martha (Green) Thompson.  He graduated from Poteau High School and was retired from ODOT where he worked as a mechanic for 42 years and enjoyed working with his friends.    He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.   He was a deputy sheriff and reserve officer with the Poteau Police Dept.   Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Ruth Nell (Thompson) Copkney,  Durfey May Thompson, Ida Thompson, & Durfey Thompson Jr. 

He leaves to cherish his memory nephews, Ancio Thompson,  Devin Damae Thompson, Desmond Thompson, Durfey Thompson III; nieces, Antoinette Thompson, Jessa Thompson, Jamese Horst; sister in law, Carmen Thompson of Edmond, OK;  other relatives, loved ones and many beloved friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. 

The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives and friends.

JUDY TOLBERT

Judy Tolbert, 66, of Pocola, OK passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 in Pocola.  Judy was born October 25, 1952 in Rock Island, OK to Louis & Ollie (Poole) Childress.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David, Carl & Jerry; sister, Edith Jones.

          Survivors include her daughters, Belinda & Russell Moran of Hackett, AR, Christy Hoover of Panama, OK, Sherry Barnes of Gore, OK; 5 grandchildren, Dustin Miller, T.J. Moran, Brianna Efurd, Matthew Efurd, Asia Efurd; companion, Donald Paul Smith of Cameron, OK; and his children, Don Paul Smith Jr. & Sharon, Paul Chase Smith Jr. & Shantal, Shasta  Naylor, Shandra Lovell, Taylor Smith, Tylor Smith; sisters, Carol Goins, Ruth Hartsfield, Pam Dixon and Patty Childress; brothers, Junior., Danny, and Eddie; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 10 am, Tuesday,  January 8, 2019,  Evans Memorial Chapel, Pocola with Russell Moran officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Miller, T.J. Moran, Matthew Efurd, Chase Smith, Taylor Smith, Tylor Smith & Jamie Suter.

           In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gideon’s or charity of your choice.

Patricia Ann Daniel

Patricia Ann Daniel, 69, of  Howe, OK passed away Wednesday, January 2,  2019 in Heavener, OK.  Patricia was born July 4, 1949 in Wichita Falls, TX.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Leamon “Tiny” & Lucille Atkins; brother, Ted Meek.

          Survivors include her husband, Stanley Daniel; daughter, Christy Smallwood & Jesse of Howe, OK; son, Bo Daniel & Lisa of Kinta, OK; grandchildren, Ross Daniel & wife Tori, Connor & Alyssa Smallwood; great grandchild, Braylee Daniel; brothers, Allen Foster & Mark Atkins; sisters, Judy Wigley & Gayla Hatfield; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 2 pm, Monday, January 7, 2019 at Monroe Baptist Church, Monroe, OK.  Interment will follow in Monroe Cemetery.

          The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
