Susan England

Susan Helen Eader England, 80, of Shady Point, OK passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Shady Point.  Susan was born March 24, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, MD to Lewis & Edna Eader.  Susan attended Frostburg St. Teacher College in Maryland.  She taught first grade at East Frederick elementary school where she was active in PTA and Little League Baseball; Frederick County Farm Bureau Women's Committee; and she taught Sunday School at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church; as well as being a 4H leader.  After moving to Oklahoma she received her Masters/Reading Specialist Certification at NSU; taught for 25 years at Panama Elementary.  She was Teacher of the Year twice and Who's Who in Teaching three times.  Susan was president of the Shady Point PTA, OEA representative, and active member of the Beta Lambda Chapter of DKG where she was past secretary.  She was president of the LeFlore County Reading Council; a Cavanal Gem's Red Hatter; and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Poteau where she enjoyed Senior Cafe.  Susan was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wallace, Blaine, Granison, Clifford and Bernie; sisters, Pearl, Pauline, Shirley and Lillian Burris; beloved son, Robert Blaine England.

          Survivors include her husband, Charles Clifford England Sr.; son & daughter in law, Charles Jr. & Lisa England; daughter & son in law, Becky & Ronnie Bell; grandchildren, Courtney & Brian Arnall, Brandon & Rachel England, Cliff & Gerianna England, Ryan & Ashley England, Bobby Lee England, Ronna Bell & fiance Colt Dunigan, Faith England; great grandchildren, Brayden, Audrey, Sarah Anne, Jase, Cambri, Cooper, Chad, Colton; brother & wife, Robert & Barbara Eader;  sister in law, Donna Eader; other relatives, loved ones and many beloved friends.

          Services will be  at 2 pm, Friday, June 9, 2017  at First United Methodist Church, Poteau with Rev. Jim Perkin & Rev. Jim Cook  officiating.    The  family will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.  Pallbearers will be Brandon England, Cliff England, Ryan England, Ronnie Bell, Brian Arnall and Colt Dunigan. Donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Poteau.

Lois G. Raymond.

Lois G. Raymond, 98, of Spiro, OK passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 in Spiro.  Lois was born June 14, 1918 in Poker Bend, OK to Dave & Minnie Monks.  She worked for Boeing Aircraft.

Private services will be held later.

Cecelia M. Enger

Cecelia M. Enger, 88, of Poteau, OK passed away Friday, June 2, 2017  in Poteau.  Cecelia was born October 12, 1928 in St. James, MN to Anthony & Freda (Martin) Roberts.  She was a retired cafeteria worker for public education.

 She was preceded in death by her husband Gale Edward Enger on  February 18, 2015.

 A private family service will be held at a later date.

David G. Lann

David G. Lann, 51, of  Howe, OK passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK.  David was born September 18, 1965 in Florence, AZ to Ronald Hailey & Naomi J. Lann.  He was a 'jack of all trades'.   David was an energetic, outgoing, caring and loving family man, loved by all.  He was a respectful and loyal all around person.  He loved the outdoors, fishing, animals, shooting guns and he was a great jokester.  He could make anyone laugh and smile.  David was a great husband, father & grandfather that would do anything for his family.

Survivors include his sons, David Lann Jr. , Joseph Lann; daughter, Heather Lann; stepson, Arnold Barnes Jr. all of Sacramento, CA; Justin Worley of Rock Island, OK; 7 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; fiance, Tina Jones; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

There will be a family gathering at 3:30 pm, June 2, 2017 at Bill J. Barber Park, Poteau, OK. 

Barbara Ann Ennis

Barbara Ann Ennis (Willis) March 5, 1938 – May 30, 2017

Barbara passed away peacefully on May 30, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer, at her home in Centennial, Colorado. Barbara exhibited strength, grace, compassion and a sense of humor up until the moment she passed.  Barbara was born in Shady Point, Oklahoma in 1938 to Emory and Ruby (Rodden) Willis, the fifth of six children. Barbara excelled in school and athletics along with helping her father at the family convenience store, trailer court and cabins. Barbara was the valedictorian of both her Junior and Senior High classes, as well as Carnival Queen her Senior year at Panama High School. Upon graduating from high school, Barbara moved to Oklahoma City to attend Drawns Business College. After completing her education at Drawns, Barbara married her high school sweetheart Willie Arthur “Bill” Ennis, and moved to Amarillo, Texas where he was stationed in the Air Force, and gave birth to their first son there. Prior to their second sons birth they moved to Oklahoma City, where Barbara worked in various offices as an Office Manager. Barbara and Bill eventually ended up in the Tulsa area to raise their family, during this time Barbara was an Office Manager at various law firms, and wore many hats. Barbara and Bill we able to retire to their farm in Poteau, Oklahoma in 1992. Barbara had various animals on the farm including, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and cows as she was a lifelong animal lover. Barbara took pleasure in making the farm a home for her sons and grandchildren to enjoy. Barbara enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, spending time with her family and animals, making flower arrangements, reading and her television shows.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Bill, son Gordon, beloved parents Emory and Ruby, her brothers Floyd and Charley, sisters Mable and Jewell.

Barbara is survived by her son Brian (Dana) Ennis of Edmond, Ok, granddaughters Alisha (William) Eslinger of Canton, TX, Amber Ennis of Tulsa, OK, Heather (Player) Driscoll of Centennial, CO, Kristen Ennis of Centennial, CO, as well as four great grandchildren, Kylie, Logan and Chastin Eslinger and Hannah Driscoll.

Services will be 2 pm, Saturday, June 3, 2017 graveside at Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.
