Melissa Sue Gates

 Melissa Sue Gates, 26, of  Rock Island, OK passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Melissa was born November 16, 1991 in Susquehanna, PA to Victor M. & Rhonda (Rieman) Arroyo.  She was a waitress at Pizza Hut. 

Melissa is survived by her husband, Dillon Gates of the home; son, Matthew Gates; her mother, Rhonda Rieman of Talihina, OK; father in law & mother in law, Richard & Jennifer Gates of Rock Island, OK sister, Leslie Arroyo of Ft. Smith, AR, Christina Arroyo of Talihina, OK, Jena Moore of Rock Island, OK, Nicole Munoz of Ft. Smith, AR, Kaylee Gates of Rock Island, OK; brothers, Kevin Arroyo of Talihina, OK, Sergio Arroyo of Spiro, OK, Christian Arroyo & Kenny Arroyo of Live Oak, FL;  other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Memorial services will be 3 pm, Sunday, January 8,2017 at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola, OK with Pastor Rockey Boggs officiating.

Dannie G. Townley

Dannie Gerald Townley, 57, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Poteau.  Dannie was born August 10, 1959 in Indio, CA to Jerry Dean & Carol Geraldine (Lacey) Townley.  He worked as a truck driver for Airgas.  Dannie was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Dean Townley.

Survivors include his children, Dannie Gerald Townley Jr. & wife Tabitha, Deana Marie Oakes of Poteau; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Jordan Townley, Madison Ariana Oakes, Micah Aaron Oakes,  Lacey Marie Oakes, Mya Mae Townley, Jerry Dean Townley; mother, Carol Townley; brothers, Dennis James Townley & wife Rosalee, Jerry Ray Townley & wife Laura; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will  be 10 am, Monday, January 9, 2017 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Wister, OK with Rev. Brian Smith and Rev. Jerry Townley officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be Jerry, Dannie, Dennis & Jonathan Townley, Harry Coleman, Jerry Dunning.

Jimmy Lee Walls

     Jimmy Lee Walls, 69, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Poteau.    Jimmy was born July 24, 1947 in Cameron, OK to Homer & Lois (Potter) Walls.  He was a mechanic.  Jimmy  was preceded in death by his mother, Lois and brother, Homer Ray Walls.

    Survivors include his father, Homer Walls & sister, Angela Walls, both of Poteau; son, Jimmy Walls Jr. & wife Jean of Georgia; daughter, Nina Walls-Gatt & husband David of Georgia; companion of 23 years, Wanda Perkins of Poteau; stepchildren, Crystal Salazar of Poteau, Donnie Potter Jr. of Ft. Smith, AR; grandchildren, Jimmy Lee Walls III, Jessica Goodman, Branden Walls, Brittany Gatt, Britney Goff, Johnathon Goff, Marcia Carpenter, Saleena Mendez, Cody Potter & Autumn Potter; great grandchildren,  Gracie, Connor, Kaylie, Elayna, Karlee, Christian, Jonathan; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

    Services - 11 am, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron. Pallbearers will be Bobby, Brook & Justin Mize, Alex Harp, Roman Lumpkin & Mike Eslick.

Marilyn Gentry

Marilyn E. Gentry, 78, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Marilyn was born October 28, 1938 in  Waterloo, WI to Vernon & Eleanor (Klingeman) Bolger.      She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister & one brother; one grandson.

Survivors include  her husband of 60 years, Roy Gentry; children, Matt & Nona Gentry, Kathy Johnson, Barbara & John Lumpkin, Laura & Steve Walden, Jimmy & Mel Gentry; 8 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; brothers, Mike, Ronnie & Steve Bolger;       numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Private family services will be held.
