Della Marie Ferrell, 89, of Pocola, OK passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 in Ft. Smith, AR. Della was born August 10, 1921 in Bokoshe, OK. Della was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pocola Assembly of God Church. She loved quilting. Della was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Ferrell; parents, Charley & Myrtle Nichols; sisters, Beulah Tucker & Velma Poston. She is survived by 1 daughter & son in law, Leota Faye & Dan Carter of Pocola,OK; grandsons, Dan Carter Jr & wife, Kaye of Poteau, OK, Jeff Carter & wife, Sylvia of Pocola, OK, Preston Carter of Pocola, OK; granddaughter in law, Terry Carter of Spiro, OK; 7 great grandchildren, Stephanie Jones, Samantha Carter, Danny Carter all of Poteau, OK; Desi Carter, Derek Carter of Pocola, OK; Breanna Carter & Dustin Carter of Spiro, OK; 1 great great granddaughter, Riley Jones of Poteau, OK; sister, Elizabeth Dolan of Pocola, OK; brother, Harold Nichols of Pocola, OK; numerous nieces & nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services will be held 10 am, Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola, OK with Rev. Kenneth Jones & Rev. Carl Cheshier officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK. Pallbearers will be Dan Carter Jr., Jeff Carter, Preston Carter, Danny Carter, Bob Morton & Jim Poston. The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
