Barbara Ann Ennis



Barbara Ann Ennis (Willis) March 5, 1938 – May 30, 2017



Barbara passed away peacefully on May 30, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer, at her home in Centennial, Colorado. Barbara exhibited strength, grace, compassion and a sense of humor up until the moment she passed.  Barbara was born in Shady Point, Oklahoma in 1938 to Emory and Ruby (Rodden) Willis, the fifth of six children. Barbara excelled in school and athletics along with helping her father at the family convenience store, trailer court and cabins. Barbara was the valedictorian of both her Junior and Senior High classes, as well as Carnival Queen her Senior year at Panama High School. Upon graduating from high school, Barbara moved to Oklahoma City to attend Drawns Business College. After completing her education at Drawns, Barbara married her high school sweetheart Willie Arthur “Bill” Ennis, and moved to Amarillo, Texas where he was stationed in the Air Force, and gave birth to their first son there. Prior to their second sons birth they moved to Oklahoma City, where Barbara worked in various offices as an Office Manager. Barbara and Bill eventually ended up in the Tulsa area to raise their family, during this time Barbara was an Office Manager at various law firms, and wore many hats. Barbara and Bill we able to retire to their farm in Poteau, Oklahoma in 1992. Barbara had various animals on the farm including, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and cows as she was a lifelong animal lover. Barbara took pleasure in making the farm a home for her sons and grandchildren to enjoy. Barbara enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, spending time with her family and animals, making flower arrangements, reading and her television shows.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Bill, son Gordon, beloved parents Emory and Ruby, her brothers Floyd and Charley, sisters Mable and Jewell.

Barbara is survived by her son Brian (Dana) Ennis of Edmond, Ok, granddaughters Alisha (William) Eslinger of Canton, TX, Amber Ennis of Tulsa, OK, Heather (Player) Driscoll of Centennial, CO, Kristen Ennis of Centennial, CO, as well as four great grandchildren, Kylie, Logan and Chastin Eslinger and Hannah Driscoll.



Services will be 2 pm, Saturday, June 3, 2017 graveside at Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.

Lonnie Gene Wooten



Lonnie Gene Wooten, 72, of Wister, OK passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Lonnie was born October 27, 1944 in Howe, OK to James Harvey "J.H." & Ruby Lee (Thompson) Wooten.  He  worked on the Tie Gang for the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad.  Lonnie was a veteran of the US Army.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Ramona Vaughn, Clydean & Ruby Mae; 4 brothers, Clem, James, Ronnie & Clifford Wooten.



Survivors include his daughters, Joyce Wooten of Poteau and Crystal Wooten of Wister, OK; grandchildren, Shelby Culver, Logan Midgley, Taylor Hamner, Jayden Wooten & Lawson Akers; 2 sisters, Doris Duvall of Wister, OK, Linda Brannon of Fanshawe, OK; 3 brothers, Gary, Robert & Donnie Wooten of Wister, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Ellis Chapel Church in Wister, OK with interment following in Ellis Chapel Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Shane & Ronnie Wooten, Lee Akins, Rickey Vaughn, Waylon Hartness and Jon Duvall. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Midgley, Jayden Wooten, Lawson Akers, Robert Wooten, Rick Wooten, Toby Culver.



The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

James H. Beshears



James H. Beshears, 72, of Pocola, OK passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in Pocola.  James was born December 21, 1944 in Waldron, AR to James G. & Lavern (Solley) Beshears.   He was a veteran of the US Army.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Gene Hall and brother, Jim Beshears.

Survivors include his wife Ruth of the home; daughters, Lori Kilgore & husband Jason of Ft. Smith, AR, Lisa Watts of Pocola, OK; 5 grandchildren, Cullen, Caden & Carver Watts, Landon & Lauren Kilgore; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Friday, May 26, 2017 graveside at Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola, OK with Lance Ashmore officiating.  Pallbearers will be Jason Kilgore, Kyle Hamby, Roger Lairamore & Randy Lairamore.

Denver Dickson



Denver Dickson, 79, of Wister, OK passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Denver was born October 15, 1937 in Wister to Olive Edith & Gertie Edna (Green) Dickson.  He was a veteran of the US Air Force.  Denver was a KATS bus driver.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, J.L. & Charley Wayne Dickson.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Ann (Owens) Dickson of the home; his children, Arley & Jennifer Campbell of Lamar, AR, Jimmy Dickson & Andrea Spaulding of Huntington Beach, CA, Brittany Ann & Holder Lunsford of Wister, OK; grandchildren, Dalton Bo Campbell, Allie Campbell, Caleb Campbell and Adelina Dickson; siblings, Cecil Dickson of Wister, OK, Ernest Dickson of Oakland, OR, Melvin Dickson of Covington, OK, Lorene Naylor of Hontubby, OK, Betty Lang of Oakland, OR; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 3 pm, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Church of God Seventh Day in Wister, OK with Don Martin officiating.  Interment will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister.  Pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Jeff Smith, Little Denver Dickson, Bobby Dickson, Terry Davis, Jesse Davis, Arley Campbell.

The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Audria E. "Sissy" Roe




Audria  E. "Sissy" Roe, 94, of Wister, OK walked through the gates of Heaven of May 17, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  She was born March 18, 1923 in Kinta, OK.  She was a Christian and a Baptist.  Sissy worked for nearly 70 years as a waitress; she was a server for the Elderhostel Program at Carl Albert State College and a Restaurateur as owner and operator of the Hickory Stick in Heavener, OK.  Though times changed over her 94 years, she never did lose touch with what really matters: family, faith and purpose.  She as a dancer, a practical joker, the family historian, and a story teller without equal.  She laughed easily and often, and she never met a stranger.  Anyone lucky enough to be a friend or a family member had a loyal and fierce advocate.   She was preceded in death by her by her parents, Millard & Perna Bell (Fry) Chronister; her husband of 54 years, John C. "Jack" Roe; daughter, Gloria Lynn Roe; brothers, Denver Ray & Linston C. Chronister; sister, Darlene Chronister; brother in law, Ray Newby and sister in law, Peggy Chronister.



Sissy is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jerry & Colene Perry of Lubbock, TX; sister, Betty Newby of Wister, OK; 4 brothers, Bobby Chronister of Canute, OK, Buford Chronister of Pearland, TX, Eldred Chronister of Poteau, OK, & L.F. Chronister of Broken Arrow, OK; 4 sisters in law, Jeanie Chronister & Grace Chronister of Wister, OK, Mary Chronister of Poteau, OK & Shirley Chronister of Pearland, TX; granddaughter, Kristina Graham of Tucson, AZ; 2 grandsons, Steven Perry & wife Samantha of Houston, TX, Shane Jamison & wife Koko of New Orleans, LA; and an army of devoted nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.



Graveside services will be held at San Bois Cemetery in Kinta, OK at 5 pm, Sunday, May 21, 2017 with Rev. Kelly Chronister officiating.
