Elizabeth Lindsay

Elizabeth Kay Lindsay, 54, of Ft. Smith, AR passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 in Ft. Smith.  Elizabeth was born December 26, 1964, in Oklahoma City, OK to Billy Z. & Ruby Nell (Wann) Jenson.  She was a children’s librarian.  Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father and father in law, Robert Lindsay.

Survivors include her husband OF 34 years,  James of the home; daughter & son in law, Miranda & Casey McCoy of Ft. Smith, AR;  her mother, Ruby Jenson; sister, Cheryl Quinley; nephew, Ryan Quinley, all of Poteau, OK; mother in law, Nancy Lindsay; brother in law & sister in law, Patrick & Angela Lindsay; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 11 am, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow.

Darlene Shackelford

Wilma “Darlene” Shackelford, 80, of Cameron, OK passed away November 27, 2019   in Ft. Smith, AR.  Darlene was born June 10, 1939 in Shady Point, OK to George & Gertie (Garrett) Embrey.  She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers & 4 sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Gene Shackelford; daughters, Lynn & Robert Perryman, Michelle & Karl Julstead; sons, James & Debbie Shackelford, Cody & Melissa Shackelford, Clay & Tracey Shackelford; grandchildren, Sandy, Myra, Erica, Kyle, Chris, Dylan, Jessica, Skye, Aaron and Tyler; numerous great and great great grandchildren; sisters, Gertie & James Hill, Millie Sisco; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 1 pm, Monday, December 2, 2019 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Eddie Kazy officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons.   The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Kenneth W. Hess

Kenneth Wayne Hess, 51, of Poteau, OK passed away November 28, 2019 in Poteau.  Kenneth was born May 12, 1968 in Ft. Worth, TX to Claude & Martha Jane (Hutson) Hess.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa of the home; daughters,  Desha Gonzales, Starr Ann & Jerry Davis, K.C. Hess of Heavener, OK;  son, Kenneth “Peanut” Hess of the home; 6 grandsons, sister, Patricia & C.M. Prather of Little Rock, AR; brothers, Micheal & Jane Hess of Poteau, OK, David Hess, Tony & Barbara Hess of Ft. Worth, TX.; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 1 pm, Monday, December 2, 2019 at Shepherd’s Heart Church, Poteau with Bro. Clyde Hess & Nick Hess officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be C.M. Prather, Caleb Trussell, Tony Hess, Cory Harris, Joseph Trussell, Benji Barnes, Barbara Hess. The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives  & friends.

Audum Rae Martindale

Audum Rae Martindale, 26, of Howe, OK passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 in Poteau.  Audum was born February 24, 1993 in Poteau, OK to Richard Allen & Dana Rae (Gardenhire) Martindale.  She worked at Tote-a-Poke.  Audum was preceded in death by her father and sister, Jennifer Goforth.

Survivors include her fiancé, David Pierce; daughters, Kynzlee Raelynn Dawn Pierce and Kylee Shea Pierce; her mother Dana Martindale Goforth; stepdad, Dennis Goforth; brothers, Nicholas Martindale, Justin Goodyear, Dennis Goforth Jr.; grandparents, Larry & Lonnie Gardenhire, Mary Martindale; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Saturday,  November 30, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Heavener with Sam Dyer officiating.

Carroll Yarbrough

Carroll Edward Yarbrough Sr., 69, of Poteau, OK passed away  Thursday, November 21, 2019 in Poteau.  Carroll was born December 24, 1949 in Morrilton, AR to Elmo & Maxine (Hill) Yarbrough.  He was parts manager at Poteau Motor Co. and also worked at Poteau Pawn & Gun.  Carroll loved fishing, coin collecting and visiting with his regulars at the pawn shop.  He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Janie Smith, nephew, Seth Yarbrough; mother and father in law, Corrine & Loyd Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Jenice; sons, Carroll E. Jr. & Austin H.; daughter, Nora Beth Cunningham & husband James all of Poteau, OK; grandchildren, Chassity & Arron Widdifield, Alexis Yarbrough; sister, Sandra Carpenter & husband Harold of West Memphis, TN, Tina Yarbrough; brother, Allen Yarbrough;  sister in law & brother in law, Janice & Paul Dickson of Poteau; brother in law & sister in law, Buddy & Connie Smith of Alma, AR; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be Todd Lowrimore, Eric Blaylock, Jim Berngen, Lance Smith, Ledger Lowrimore.

The family will be at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
