Mr. Shirley Dean Weatherford

Shirley Dean Weatherford, 74, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 in Poteau, OK. Shirley was born in Lone Pine (Summerfield), OK on October 17, 1934 to Clovis & Martha (Rose) Weatherford. He was retired as Water Superintendent for the City of Poteau where he worked for 37 years. HE was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Katie Weatherford; 2 brothers in law, Elmer Yarberry & Justin Spottedbear. Survivors include 2 stepsons, Dixie Wayne Kyle & wife, Deborah of Hot Springs, AR, Charles Robert Kyle of the home; 3 stepdaughters, Aledda Marler of Poteau, OK, Lawanna Kyle of the home; Kay Drury & husband, Lynn of Poteau, OK; 2 brothers, Ronald Weatherford of Fort Windgate, NM, William Weatherford of Castro Valley, CA; 2 sisters, Sue Jane Yarberry of Poteau, OK, Anna Joe Spottedbear of Fort Worth, TX; 9 Step Grandchildren; 18 Step Great Grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services held 2 pm, Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church in Poteau with Rev. Keith Williams & Rev. Sonny Daniels officiating. Interment in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. Pallbearers were members of the Poteau Water Department.
