Ella Moore


Ella Louise Moore, 66, of Pocola, OK  passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Pocola.  Ella was born February 17, 1955 to Joe & Nancy Marie (Rose) Earl.  She worked at Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith, AR.

 Survivors include her sons, James Hartsock and Billy Moore Jr.; 7 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Moss & Frankie Moss; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK.  Pallbearers will be James Hartsock, Billy Moore Jr., Cheyenne Moore, Channing Moore, Brett Sliger, and J.R. Robison. 

 The family will be at the funeral home in Pocola on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to receive visitors.

Billy Joe Moore Sr.

 Billy Joe Moore, Sr., 71, of Pocola, OK passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Pocola.  Billy was born June 26, 1950 in Memphis, TN to George & Lotti (Smith) Moore.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ella Moore; 3 brothers & 1 sister.

Survivors include his sons, Billy Jr. & wife Tiffany Moore; James & wife Amanda Hartsock; five brothers & one sister; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 Private services will be held.

Phyllis Vaughn


 Phyllis Vaughn, 81, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 In Oklahoma City. Phyllis was born December 15, 1939 in Colony, OK to Russell J & Naomi F. (Dunn) Chody.  She was a graduate of Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City.  She was employed at the OKC Board of Education for many years; and at Carl Albert Jr. College until she retired in 2003.  She was a pastor’s wife and a music minister.  She was preceded in death by her husband, “Dickie” Lee Vaughn; her parents; 2 brothers & 1 sister; stepson, Mike Vaughn and granddaughter, Amy Kerr.

 Survivors include her children, Rebecca Wise & husband Mike of Moore, OK, David Adkisson & wife Toni of Eufaula, OK, Joel Adkisson & wife Candice of Sapulpa, OK, James Vaughn & wife Kellie of Poteau, OK, Beverly Bain of Poteau, OK; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 Services will be 2 pm, Monday, September 27, 2021 at Mt. View Baptist Church in Glendale, OK with Tim Trent officiating.  Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery. ** 41345 GLENDALE RD, WISTER, OK.  Pallbearers will be Adrian Adkisson, Justin Adkisson, Arthur Adkisson, Cody Bain, Ethan Vaughn, Andrew Vaughn.  Honorary pallbearers will be Picher Adkisson, Chris Vaughn, Shawn Vaughn, and Eldon Bain.

Visitation will be 1-5 on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. View Baptist Church.

Joe Renfro

 

Joe Thaxton Renfro, 85, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Poteau.  Joe was born September 26, 1935 in Huntington, TX to Isaac Perry & Opal Valree (Trimble) Renfro.  Joe was a member of the Poteau First United Methodist Church, a Gideon, 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner, a veteran of the US Navy. He was a rancher, a salesman, and managed the employment office.  He loved his family, church, the Gideons, working and helping people.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Kathrine Renfro Jordan and brother, Billy Renfro.

 Survivors include his wife of nearly 61 years, Martha Jane (Durham); children, Jamie & John Shaddon of Clinton, OK, Susan & Leo Olivarez of Claremore, OK, Tim & Kim Renfro of Pocola, OK; grandchildren, Lori & Garrett Scott of Oklahoma City, OK, Blake Shaddon of Clinton, OK, Joel Olivarez of Claremore, OK, Nicole, Ryder & Rindi Renfro of Pocola; great grandchild, Addison Scott of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Isaac Perry Renfro Jr, & wife Carolyn; niece and nephew, Amy Mullins, Mark & Melissa Sauter; sister in law, Sheila & Jim Bolton; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 Services - 2 pm – Friday – September 24, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, Poteau with Jim Perkin officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. 

 Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 pm.   Due to Joe’s dedication and love for the Gideon Bible Program please call the funeral home and donate Gideon Bibles or make donations to the charity of your choice.
