Raymond Brasher


 Raymond Brasher, 70, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Raymond was born March 9, 1950 in Poteau to Jack & Ortha (Cagle) Brasher.  He was a veteran of the US Army.  Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Loyd Carol, Tim, Mark; son, Charles Griffith.

 Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; children, Rhonda Rolf, Crystal & Barry Sitton, Jackie & Matt Rake of Poteau; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Sadie Harris, Carol & John Hunter, Donna Thornburg, Diann & Anthony Walker; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau with Jim Cook officiating.    The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6- 8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Janice Sue Hagler


 Janice Sue Hagler, 66, of Panama, OK passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Panama. Janice was born November 13, 1953 in Van Buren, AR to James & Gurtie Lou (Rosson) Taylor.   She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, & sister.  Janice always thought of others before herself.  She will be deeply missed by all.  She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Hagler II; grandson, Jordan Corley; sister, Donna Kay Sandlin; and brother James Taylor; and her parents, James & Gurtie Taylor.

          Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Steve; children, Frank Hagler, Dixie Bolin; grandchildren, Jeremy Corley, Desiree Hollenback, Tanner, Job & Katelyn Hagler; great grandchildren, Trevor, Emrie & Braxton Corley, Jordan, Raelyn & Isabel Hollenback; siblings, Dennis Taylor, Wanda Gragg, Diane Crims, Linda Marston, Patsy Ellifritz, JoAnn Taylor; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, OK with Caroline Langston officiating.  Pallbearers will be Dixie (Bolin) Patton, Job Hagler, Tanner Hagler, Frankie Hubbard, Ray Mitchell, Tim Hollenback. 

          The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

MARGARET MCCOLLOM

Margaret  McCollom, 86, of Bokoshe, OK passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at  her home.  Margaret was born December 7, 1933 in Nubbin Ridge, OK to John Oscar & Bessie May (Morgan) Phillips.  She was a member of Bokoshe American Legion; TOP’s in Poteau, Bokoshe Baptist Church.  She babysat many “Little Bokoshe Tigers” throughout her life and was the ‘Biggest’ Bokoshe Tiger basketball cheerleader that ever lived.  She was ready to help out her town in any way she could; a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a homemaker for life and loved her family. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Howard McCollom; one baby girl; son, Buddy McCollom and great great grandson, Zaven Lynn Dmitri Johnson, sisters, Vina McCollom & Deloris Miller; brothers, J.R. Phillips & Fred Phillips. .

Survivors include her daughter, Judy McKinney & husband Stanley; daughter in law, Barbara McCollom of Wister;  granddaughters, Stacy Stroud & Bryan of Spiro, Amanda Hagelberger & Adam of Wister, Samantha Johnson & Brandon of Wister; grandson, Motor McKinney & Nicole of Muldrow;  great grandchildren, Cory Southerland & Janise of Spiro, Keifer Southerland of Muldrow, Makayla Hammer of Stilwell, Mariah Treat of Muldrow & Ethan McKinney of Muldrow; 16 great great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Gravside services will be 2 pm, Friday, September 11, 2020 at Nubbin Ridge Cemetery
with Jim Cook officiating.  Pallbearers will Motor & Ethan McKinney, Bryan Stroud, Cory & Keifer Southerland, Adam Hagelberger & Brandon Johnson.

Mattie Lou McKenzie, 91, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 in Pocola, OK.  Mattie was born August 31, 1929 in Goose Creek, TX to Clifford Sr. & Lillian Gladys (Buller) Andrews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell McKenzie; sons, Clifford Earl & Russell G. Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Kay Carter of Poteau, OK; son, Steven Carl McKenzie of Seaside, OR; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Diane Chere Martin of Brenham, TX; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 10 am, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion with Jim Cook officiating.

Betty Gedosh


        Betty Jo Gedosh, 89, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at Fort Smith, AR.  Betty was born June 16, 1931 in Yukon, OK to Walter C. & Sophia Marie (Slopman) Mitchell.  She was a school counselor.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin Gedosh; son, Danie Byous Jr.; sisters, Mary Turner, Samantha Burt; brothers, Buddy, Doug and Dean Mitchell; half brothers, Argus & Mutt Meeks.
             Survivors include her daughter in law, Susie Byous Lairamore; stepson, Jack & Joann Gedosh; granddaughters, Misty & Jerry Collins, Lacey & Justin Downs; great grandchildren, Dani Collins, Champ Downs, Dax Collins, Wrigley Downs, Rooklyn Downs; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
          Services will be 10 am, Friday, September 11, 2020 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, OK with Phil McGehee & Jim Cook officiating.  Pallbearers will be Jerry Collins, Justin Downs, Dax Collins, Champ Downs, Wrigley Downs & Leon Mitchell.

Edmond Billy


Edmond Talmadge Billy, 81, of Fanshawe, OK passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 in Little Rock, AR.  Edmond was born December 22, 1938 in McCurtain, OK to William & Rina (Griffith) Billy.  He was a veteran of the US Army and was a plumbing contractor.  Edmond was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Steven Tyler Billy, Matthew Billy & Landon Shelton; numerous siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Addie Geraldine (Perkins); daughters, Rhonda Thompson, Connie Younus & husband Ezzeldin Mahmoyd, Tracey McBride, Glenda & Bill Needham; sons, Shannon Billy, Shane Billy,  Glenn Billy, Simon & Debbie Billy Lance Richardson, David & Chloe Torres; 27 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; numerous brothers & sisters; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Vaughn Cemetery Pavilion, Gimore, OK with Christopher Cunningham &  David Torres officiating.  Pallbearers will be Shannon Billy Jr., Tristan Billy, Cary Billy, Shawn Vihroski, Dakota Johnson, Gregg Needham, David Torres, Chase Melton, Bryar Melton, Mason Robbins, Collin Sisco, Colton Needham, Carter Rice, Cason Rice, Jaxon Gullick.


Barbara Deere


         Barbara Wyota Deere, 79, of Summerfield, OK passed away Sunday, September 06, 2020 in Summerfield.  She was born September 14, 1940 in Summerfield to Willie and Lurahree (Allison) Walden.    Barbara was retired from Kiamichi Electric as a billing supervisor where she worked for over 25 years.  She was active in her community and loved to serve those who lived in it.  She helped prepare meals every Tuesday at the Summerfield Community Center for many years.  She was active in the Busy Bee Quilting Club. She would accompany James to many horse races over the years to help cheer on a horse that they would have racing.    Barbara loved her family more than anything in the world and especially the time she got to spend with her great grandchildren.  She will be missed by many.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Doyle & Jackie Walden; sister, Carolyn Dwillis.

          Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Deere of the home; two sons, Michael & Sherry Deere of Summerfield; Joe & Cindy Deere of Poteau; brothers, Neil & Lynn Walden of Reichert, Rick & Sharon Walden of Roland; sister, Debbie Coleman of Muskogee; granddaughters, Marcie Barnes of Shady Point, Kacie & Dillion Fields of Poteau, Breanna & Tyler Dial of Farmington, AR, Heather Deere of Williamsburg, VA; six great grandchildren; special friends, Molly Turner & Jean Gill.

          Private services will be held.  Thanks to Heart of Hospice for the care and comfort in her last few weeks and the many people who called and visited.
