Mary L. French


Mary Levonia French, 85, of Colcord, OK passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 in Colcord.  Mary was born July 31, 1934 in Calhoun, OK to George Calvin & Ola Jane (Maxwell) Williams.    Mary was a seamstress.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George Williams & Ola Kraus; children, Virgil Steven Bledsoe & Laurna Joyce Baker; sisters, Burl Ann Schaak & Jacletia Dixie Hawthorne.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Bobby French; children, Marilyn Gayle Guinn, Freddie Kent Bledsoe, Johnny Lee French & Jeannie Marie Casados; 15 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren; brother, George Williams; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm to visit with friends and relatives.  Services will be at a later date.

Mitchell Ledford


Mitchell Ledford, 86, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Mitchell retired from Whirlpool and then became a barber.  Mitchell was a member of Shepherd’s Heart Church in Poteau.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ott & Desi L. (Allen) Ledford; his wife of over 60 years, Audra “Lady Bug”; siblings, Rosie Mae McCowan, George Otis, Charles Lester, Harold Allen & Curtis Ledford, Shirley Faye Ledford; son, John Ledford; daughters, Paula Ledford & Peggy Tyler; granddaughter Audra Grace.



Survivors include his daughters & son in law, Jowanda & Bill Grace of Gridley, IL, Jennifer Waggoner of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, John Grace of Tulsa, OK, Joshua Grace of Streator, IL, Tresten Ledford of Meade, OK, Haley Grace of Round Rock, TX, Katelyn Waggoner of Tulsa, OK; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Henry Ledford of Ft. Smith, AR; sister, Velma Walton of Muldrow, OK; other relatives & loved ones.



Viewing will be at 9 am with services following at 10 am, Monday, September 23, 2019 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Tresten Ledford officiating.

Virginia Ruth Marsh


Virginia Ruth Marsh, 84, of Pocola, OK passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Pocola.  Virginia was born October 18, 1934 in Sarcoxie, MO to Harry & Henryetta (Begley) Archer.  She was the cafeteria manager in Ft Smith Schools for 36 years, retiring when she was 76.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Conrow; sisters, Faye Nell Kucneroski & Joyce Solomon; and brother, Harry Archer.

Survivors include her children, Dale Conrow, David Conrow and Diana Norman; grandchildren, Michael Conrow, Donna Henneberg, Ashley Delaet & Ryan Conrow; great grandchildren, Lucas Conrow, Archer Delaet & Justin Steward; nieces, Pat Crowell & Terri Peters; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 10 am, Friday, September 20, 2019 at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola, OK.  Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola. Pallbearers will be Michael & Ryan Conrow, Sam Delaet, Danny & Daniel Nason & Gregory Remmy.

          The family will be at the funeral home in Pocola on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Patsy Qualls


Patsy Qualls, 84, of  Poteau, OK passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 in Fort Smith, AR.  Patsy was born April 13, 1935 in Cameron, OK to Clarence & Ella Mae (Gregory) Gilstrap.  She was a people greeter at Poteau Walmart for 28 years.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Franklin Smith and Bill Qualls.



Survivors include her daughter & son in law, Treca Smith & Cary Baetz of Nichols Hills, OK; Grandchildren, Madison Baetz of Lexington, VA, Max Baetz of Nichols Hills, OK; brother, Phillip Gilstrap of Okmulgee, OK; numerous nieces & nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.


Services will be 10 Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Phil McGehee officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.

Shirley Jane Thomas


Shirley Jane Thomas, 70, of Poteau, OK passed away Friday, September 13, 2019  in Ft. Smith, AR, surrounded by her family. Shirley was born August 21, 1949, in Jenson, AR to Johnny Carl & Beulah (Avants) Miller.  She was retired from Whirlpool and was a member of Monroe Church of Christ.  Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; 2 grandchildren, Aiden & Kimber Burns; 1 sister, Doris Butler & 2 brothers, Johnny & Thomas Miller.
          Survivors include her 4 daughters & sons in law, Jeannie & Dewayne Hayden of Paris, AR, Kim & Marcus Burns of Fayetteville, AR, Jamie & Dean Williamson of Eldorado, AR, Angie & Darren Bodnar of Booneville, AR; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Stepp, Zakk Bodnar, Anthony Burns, Brodie Bodnar, Abbie Bodnar, Emily Burns, Kadie Jane Williamson; 2 great grandchildren, Baylee & James Stepp; sisters, Betty Garrett, Pat Miller & Connie Denham; more than friend, Carolyn Cooper; brother Kenneth Miller of Farmington, AR; special nephew, David Thomas; numerous  other relatives & special cousins, loved ones and friends.
          Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at   Poteau Church of Christ              with Michael Hammond officiating.  Interment will follow at Monroe Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Robert, Leon, Gary, Russell and Dwight Miller, Mike Moffett.
          The family will be at the funeral home  on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
