Martha L. Baldwin Rice


      Martha L. Baldwin Rice, 88, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, May 17, 2019 in St. Louis, MO.  Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK, the Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.  Visitation will be 6-8 pm on Friday evening.
       Martha was born April 13th, 1931 in LeFlore County, OK to Ruth Mae Bell Gullick Baldwin and John Troy Baldwin.  She was a feisty and fun-loving child, and at the age of 18 wed the love of her life (George Rice, Jr.).  She was a loving and dedicated homemaker and avid gardener all her life, and owner/manager of a Dairy Queen in Texas for many years.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth (1901-1964) and Troy Baldwin (1894-1982); husband of 64 years, George Rice, Jr. (1929-2014); one sister, Dortha Lanell Hoyle (1928-2003); two brothers, Earl Finis Baldwin (1933-2013) and Donald Edward Baldwin ( -2018); son, George Michael Rice (1952-1996); and daughter, Cynthia Gaye Rice (1954-1985).  
      Survivors are her daughter, Treva Kay Rice of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter Treva Cynthia Rice; great-grandchildren Meagan Lynne and Rio Oliver; one sister, Gwendolyn Bell; and many other relatives, loved ones and friends.  She lived a long and full life and will be missed by many.

Billy W. Bozarth


Billy Wesley Bozarth, 84, of Pocola, OK passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019  in  Ft. Smith, AR.  Bill was born December 10, 1934 in Hastings, OK to Dee & Emma (Allen) Bozarth.  He was a 20 year Martine Corp. veteran who served in the Korean War and in Vietnam.    He received 2 purple hearts and retired as a First Sgt. He also retired from Ouachita Correctional Center.   Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kiawana; brothers, Carl & Howard; sisters, Peggy, Grace & Fay; daughter Billena.



Survivors include his sons, Brian Bozarth of Waldron, AR & William Robinson of Wallace, NC;  brothers, Joe Pat Bozarth of Poteau and Johnny Bozarth of Fortson, GA; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Old Bokoshe Cemetery Pavilion, Bokoshe, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. 


Mary H. Gibson


Mary H.  Gibson, 80, of Wister, OK passed away Wednesday May 22, 2019 in Wister.  Mary was born August 25, 1938 in Wister to George & Ollie (Hunnicutt) Curtis.  Mary retired from the State of Oklahoma, Dept of Human Services after serving 30 years.  She worked for Wister Public Schools for 23 years and was currently employed at Shady Point Public Schools.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Roy Gibson; son, Roy Gibson; 3 sisters; 3 brothers & 1 great grandson.



Mary is survived by 2 daughters, Robbie Santoyo and husband Larry of Kansas City, MO, & Karen Gibson of Wister, OK; 4 grandchildren, Crystal Fields & husband Scott of Frontenac, KS, Chris Inman & wife Lori of Lenapah, OK, Shelly Mutal of Seattle, WA, Dustin Gibson of Wister, OK; 6 great grandchildren, Kennedi, Karma & Kaston Fields, Taylor, Teague & Trace Inman; sisters, Georgia Jernigan of Wister, OK, Carolyn Curtis of Granada Hills, CA; brother, J.C. Curtis of Durant, OK; beloved friends, Marilyn Pledger & Ruby Hall;  numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Friday, May 24, 2019 at  First Church of the Nazarene, Wister, OK with Pastor Jerry Townley officiating.  Interment will follow in Maxey Cemetery, Wister.  Pallbearers will be Sam Walden, Ted Pride, Shane Turnipseed, Bruce Gillham, Todd Thompson & Rick Meeks


James McCoy Jr.



James William McCoy Jr., 58, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in Little Rock, AR.  James was born July 1, 1960, in Toul Rosier, France to James Sr. & Ola DeLois (Haynes) McCoy.  He was a computer programmer for Pearl Vision.  James was preceded in death by his step father, William Milligan and Kathie Ford, step sister.

Survivors include his mother, Dee Milligan; sisters, Annette Villigrana of Wister, OK, Kathy Talley of Spokane, WA; brother, Mike McCoy of TX; stepbrother, Larry Milligan of Panama, OK, James Milligan of Poteau, OK; step sisters, Mary Mullenax of Olathe, KS, Brenda Garland of Poteau, OK, Ruby Ann Himes of Heavener, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Private services will be held.

Lillie Mae Sweeten


           Lillie Mae Sweeten, 68, of Rock Island, OK passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Lillie was born August 20, 1950 in Cameron, OK to Elbert & Margaret Jane Ridenour.  She worked at Southland Furniture for 32 years and Baldor for 10 years.  Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, J.P. & Johnnie Ridenour; sisters, Billie Satterfield & Reda Dalton; mother & father in law, Coy & Bea Sweeten.
           She is survived  by her husband, Johnnie; children, Theresa Sweeten-Fountain, Donald & Wendy Sweeten; grandchildren, Kacey McGowen, Destini & Micah Ellington, Christin Sweeten, Hailey & Caleb Wilcox, Donald Sweeten, Macey Sweeten, Colton Silvagni, Jeffrey & Artie Fountain, Allen & Britanie Fountain; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Goldie Warren, Freda & Calvin Pierce, Lorene Parnell, Donna Ridenour; brothers in law, Mike & Kathy Sweeten, Billy Don & Brenda Sweeten, Troy & Linda Sweeten;  sisters in law, Brenda Sweeten, Brenda & Donald Jones; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
           Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, May 21, 2019  ********** due to weather issues the service will be at Evans Chapel, Pocola with burial at Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK********** .  Pallbearers will be Shawn, Randy & Mikey Sweeten, Brent & Chase Ridenour, Dexter Jones, Jerry & Jessie Winters.
        
The family will be at the funeral home at Pocola on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with friends and family.
