Frankie Claude Sykes


Frankie Claude Sykes, 81, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, in Poteau.  Frankie was born October 3, 1937, in Clarksville, AR to John Raymond & Reba (Dalton) Sykes.  He was retired as supervisor for the Houston Metro.  He was  a veteran of the US Army.  Frankie was preceded in death by his son, Joey Sykes;  his parents; & 7 siblings.
          Survivors include his wife Joann of the home; daughter & son in law, Becky & Aaron Boehme; grandchildren, Jenna, Jentry & Jace Boehme of Poteau, OK; sister, Marynelle Windham of Heavener, OK; brother, Koen Sykes of CA; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
          Private services will be held.

David Joe Needham


David Joe Needham, 54, of Pocola, OK passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 in Ft. Smith, AR.  David was born April 11, 1964, in Ft. Smith to Charles & Margaret Aline (Brasher) Needham.  He was preceded in death by his parents & sister, Lisa Clayton.

          Survivors include his brothers, Billy Needham & wife Glenda, Gary Needham; nephews, Gregg Needham, Trey & Zack Clayton & Dakota Johnson; niece, Sabrina Robbins; great nieces, Auystyn Robbins & Lexi Needham; great nephews, Colton Needham & Mason Robbins; numerous uncles, cousins, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Memorial services will be held 10 am, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Victory Worship Center, Spiro, OK with Rev. Bryan Fouts officiating.

Walter Glen Lynch


          Walter Glen Lynch, 78, of Wister, OK passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Wister.  Walter was born August 21, 1940, in Pine Valley, OK to William Ray & Madge (Breeding) Lynch. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Brooke & Matthew; and brothers, Kenneth & Joe Lynch. Everyone knew him as Pops.  He was a Dad to everyone and was a friend to all.  He drove a truck for 40+ years and had friends in all 50 states.  He loved his family, especially his grandsons.  They were always into something and drinking  Pops famous sweet tea.  Pops is “Eastbound and Down, Truckin for Heaven”.

          Survivors include his wife, Patricia of the home; daughter, Lucretia McGahey of Poteau, OK; son, Bruce Lynch of Wister, OK; 3 grandsons, Trevor Neal, Clifford & Christian Lynch; sisters, Lynda Hamlin of Stilwell, OK, Ann Pottridge of Waldron, AR; brother, James Lynch of Poteau, OK; mother of his children, Mary Lynch; stepsons, Gary & Ronnie Duncan; beloved daughter in law, Patricia Hopkins; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 2 pm, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with John Brown & Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park in Heavener.  Pallbearers will be Bruce, Clifford & Christian Lynch, Kodi Cook, Thomas Maxwell & Troy Cloninger.

          The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Will Wagner


William Ray Wagner, 24, passed away on November 17, 2018. He was the loving husband of his high school sweetheart, Melanie Wagner. They shared 518 days of blissful marriage together.  Born in Midwest City, Okla. He was the son of Lisa Grey and Richard Wagner. He attended Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Agricultural Business with a minor in Marketing. He was employed for Metal Roof Contractors as a project manager and estimator.
Will was passionate about things that truly mattered. His wife was the light of his life. Weight lifting,  MMA, hunting, travelling, and a good poker game with friends are a few things that Will enjoyed. A well fitted shirt, Wrangler jeans, and a pair of boots were his trademark. He will be remembered for his light, positive attitude, and ability to love selflessly.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Wagner; parents, Lisa and Dylan Grey, and Richard Wagner; sister, Liana Jones and husband Clint, Ashley Nix and husband Jamie, Amber Grey and Jason Davis; brother, Jaydan Harrison; Father and mother in law, Richard and Tammie Johnson, sisters in law Brittany Forehand and husband Mark and Sarah Johnson; brothers in law, Joe Johnson and Ross Johnson. Nieces, Gracelyn, Parker, Carter, Braelynn. Nephews, Cash, Layton and Jace. Grandparents, numerous cousins and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bill Baker.
The memorial service will be held on November 24, 2018 at 11 a.m., at the Poteau Church of Christ, 20690 292nd St, Poteau, OK 74953. A meal will follow.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Melanie Wagner Special Fund at the Community State Bank, 1409 N. Broadway Poteau, OK 74953. The family is in the process of establishing the Will Wagner Memorial.

Vina Conway


Vina  Mozell Conway, 95, of  Red Oak, OK passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018, in Pocola, OK.  Vina was born April 22, 1923 in Lodi (Red Oak), OK to Edgar Melvin & Gracie (Tidwell) Hunt.  She was a lifetime member of the Red Oak Assembly of God Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Seab Conway; grandson, Terry Owens; and brother, Claude Hunt.
          Survivors include her son & daughter in law, Jerry & Susan Conway of Pocola, OK; daughter & son in law, Janith Sue & Allen Owens of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Tina Dale & Chris Conway; great grandchildren, Tyler Dale, Jordan Dale & Bethany Dale.
          Graveside services will be  2 pm, Monday, November 26, 2018, at Red Oak Cemetery with Randy Holmes officiating.  Burial will follow in Red Oak Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.
