Larry Joe Hilton


Larry Joe Hilton, 72, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 in Poteau.  Larry was born March 27, 1946 in Coffeyville, KS to Joe & Leora Hilton.  He was a  retired machinist.  Larry was a veteran of the US Army.  He was preceded in death by his parents & all his siblings.
          Survivors include his wife Donice of the home; son, Anthony Hilton of Greenwood, AR; daughter, Salem Bock of Mansfield, AR; grandchildren, Donivon, Alexis, Trevor & Tiayana; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
          Memorial services will be 2 pm, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the First Assembly of God Church in Panama, OK with Rev. Danny Southerland officiating.

Frieda "JO" Hutton



Frieda Jo Hutton, 82, of OKC (formerly of the Calhoun area) passed away, Saturday, July 14, 2018 in OKC.  Jo was born in Dog Creek, OK on July 22, 1935 to Elvin & Juanita (Sides) Davis.  Her love and faith in the Lord, that she instilled in her children, grandchildren, and anyone who knew her help us realize that we will see her again.  She was a devoted wife, daughter, Mother, and friend and will be greatly missed.  In her younger years, she sold World Book Encyclopedias, volunteered in the school library, owned the Shangrila Beauty Salon & Boutique. Then she began taking care of her sister, parents & husband, showing us that  “Family” is the most important treasure we have on earth.  Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Don; son,  “Pat” Hutton; her parents; sister, Shelbie Ross and her brother, Leo Davis.
          Survivors include her son & daughter in law, Mike & Mary Hutton of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter & son in law, Shara & Randy Sargent of Newkirk, OK; brother, Dale Davis; sister in law, Mary Davis; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family & friends.
Services will be 2 pm,  Friday,  July 20, 2018 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Jim Cook officiating.  Burial will be at Dog Creek Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be John Hutton, Kurtis Cain, Mike Hutton, Dexter Ross, Clayton Sargent, and Daniel Davis.

DAVID HARDY

        David “Dave” Anthony Hardy, age 75, passed away peacefully on July 14th at his home in Wister, OK.  He was born in Poteau, OK on March 20, 1943 to Joyel Sherman Hardy and Charleen Eloise Marsh.  Dave retired from Kraft Foods in Ceres, CA after 30+ years as an Electrical Engineer. Shortly thereafter he relocated to Wister. He spent many years as a gunsmith and machinist. He loved spending time with  family and friends sharing wild stories, cracking jokes, and singing karaoke. Dave enjoyed going to car shows and cruises. He loved having breakfast from Bev’s Home Cookin’ in Wister, he also loved watching the eagles from his back porch. Dave is preceded in death by his parents and sister Patricia Keifer Pope of Modesto, CA.
         He is survived by: Carol Beach, his Life partner;  his sons, Anthony Gene Hardy of Modesto, CA, David Dean Hardy of Wister, OK, and Joel Dean Hardy and wife Stana of Wister, OK, Randy Spears and wife Robin of Delhi, CA, Roy Spears and wife Roberta of Ceres, CA, and David Spears of Turlock, CA; 4 Grandaughters; 6 Grandsons; and 9 Great-grandchildren that brought the biggest smiles to his face.
 brothers Darrell Hardy and wife Frances of Don Pedro, CA and Joyel Hardy and wife Leanna of Wister, OK;  sisters Wanda Meeks and husband Donald of Wister, OK and Shirley Hardy of Reno, NV.
          Services will be 10 am, Friday, July 20, 2018, at the Maxey Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. Keith Stewart  officiating.  The family would appreciate contributions made to the Gideon Bible Program.

Marvin M. Tucker


 Marvin Marshall Tucker, 85, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, in Fort Smith, AR.  Marvin was born September 19, 1932 in Cameron, OK to William & Janie (Hobson) Tucker.  He was a trucker.  Marvin was a veteran of the US Army.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Harrell, Travis and Bill; 2 sisters, Ocie and Louise.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” of the home;  children, Danny Tucker of the home, Noel Barnett of Oswego, NY, Jerry Barnett of Tulsa, OK, Robyn Tittle of Glenpool, OK; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Erma Sullivant of Poteau, OK, Edith Bowmar of TX; brother, Herbert Tucker of Heavener, OK; special friend, Clarence Douglas; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Faith Community Church (Nazarene)  Poteau, ok with Rev. Brian Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be Jerry & Noel Barnett, Robyn Tittle, Danny Tucker, Nick Manasco, Jenny Smith.  Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Marsh, Clarence Douglas, Jerry Tucker & Jim Marsh.

          The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
