Bernice Weaver


                       Viola “Bernice” Weaver, 82, of Panama, OK passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Panama.  Bernice was born August 6, 1935, in Calhoun, OK to Roy & Grace (Baxter) Monks.   She was a lady of faith; a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Panama.  Bernice loved to can; she was famously known for her pickles & her gift of gab.  She loved to sew/quilt and she loved her family.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Melford Wesley Weaver Sr. on 1/28/2007;  daughter, Melveena Weaver-Bates; and her siblings.

                       Survivors include her son & daughter in law, Wes & Angela Weaver of Howe, OK; grandchildren, Trey Weaver, Bobbye Gray, Megan Forsberg, Kelsey Weaver, Cody Ramsey and Amber Reece; 7 great grandchildren; special nephew, Joe Swenson who made his home with the Weavers for four years; special friends, Bill & Cindy Willis of Poteau; sisters in law, Goldie Fowler,  Joyce Smith,  Eldoris Weaver & Mary Weaver; special caregivers, Georgie & David Bailey; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

                       Services will be  10 AM– Thursday, June 21, 2018  at the First Assembly of God Church, Panama, OK with Bros. Brian Smith & Robert Hill.  Interment will follow in Shady Point Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Trey Weaver, Cody Ramsey, Cole Forsberg, James ‘PeeWee’ Fowler, Al Monks and David Bailey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Donathan, Joe Swenson, Lance Gray, Clifford Weaver and Alford Weaver.

                       The family will be at the funeral  home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

CHARLES ERWIN


          Charles Edward Erwin Sr., 67, of Rudy, AR, formerly of Pocola, OK, passed away on June 14, 2018 in Ft. Smith, AR, after a very long and hard fought battle with cancer.  He was born on April 14, 1951 in Muldrow, OK to Edward William and Gladys Velma (Richardson) Erwin.
          He was a devoted father, Papa, brother, uncle, friend and an avid OU sports fan.  He was of Assembly of God faith.  Charles loved spending time with his 5 granddaughters, teaching them gardening, canning, fishing and ensuring the girls knew how to do things in today’s world.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Leon, Raymond, Bob, Ned and Joe Erwin; 3 sisters, Juanita Erwin, Emogene Wilson and Freida Creighton.
          He is survived by son, Charlie Erwin Jr.; daughter, Jennifer (Erwin) and husband Tony Bruton of Rudy; 5 granddaughters, Madysen Paige and Hailey Marie Bruton, Makinzee Joye, Gracie Maye & Lilly Anne Erwin; 4 sisters, Betty Sue Spencer of Tulsa, Edwina Osburn of Sallisaw, Patsy Whitlock of Poteau, Christene Erwin of Pocola; two brothers, Shelby Erwin & wife Patsy of Pocola, Ray Erwin & wife Sandy of Pocola along with numerous, nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
          Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the Assembly of God Church, Pocola, OK with Rev. Danny Kennedy officiating.  Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola.  Pallbearers will be Ed Yates, Daniel Nicholson, Chris Highley, Bobby Lee Erwin, Robby Erwin & Brayden Erwin.
          The family will be at the funeral home in Pocola on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

ROY EUGENE LOGGAINS




      Roy Eugene Loggains, 74, of  Poteau, OK  passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Poteau, OK  following a long, hard fought illness. Roy was preceded in death by his parents Roy H. Loggains and Imogene (Kirkley) Loggains, and his oldest granddaughter Saylor Slone.
      Lovingly known as "Pop", Roy took extreme pride in his grandchildren and family  was his proudest accomplishment.
     Roy loved his career in the oil field and working in various parts of the world. He took cues from no one and always stated exactly what was on his mind. When asking Roy if he would do anything different in life he said "absolutely nothing. If I wanted to do something I did it and I've done everything I ever wanted to do." Roy did things his own way. Roy Loved life and people, but his legacy is his family and generosity. Roy placed very little value on material things and was content with a good pair of cowboy boots and of course his tobacco.
     He will be greatly missed by family and friends but never forgotten by anyone he had ever met.
     Roy leaves behind his wife of 50 years Anna;  daughter Charity; 2 sons Joey Loggains and wife Kim, Dustin Loggains and wife Tasha; Grandsons Dylan, Dawson, Dalton and his wife Hannah, and Aiden; Granddaughters Taegan, Savannah Rayne, Arianna, Alivia, and Sasha; Great Grandson Jameson Roy Loggains; Brother Dale Loggains and wife JoAnn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
     Graveside Services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Vaughn Cemetery in Gilmore, OK with Michael Monroe and Jim Cook officiating.

DONNIE RAY RIDDLE





Donnie Ray Riddle, 72, of  Poteau, OK  passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Donnie was born September  5, 1945 in Wichita Falls, TX to AZ and Novella Riddle. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Tony Terry. 

Survivors include his wife Joyce Riddle; 4 Sons Kevin Riddle and wife Schondra, Ray Terry and wife Gena, David Terry and wife Kris, Mike Terry and wife Patty; Grandchildren Kristen and Jess Riddle, Grant and Grayson Terry, Jessica Mooneyham, Jaclyn Taylor, Jordan Terry, Chad Arnold, Shane Terry, Whitney Terry, Tory Terry, Tony Terry, Jr., Megan Maynor, Mikala Boyles, Cassidy Terry, Chloe Terry, Candace Terry, and Tony Terry; 14 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters Bonnie Miller and Shirley Bridges; Brother Joe Riddle; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, loved ones and friends. 

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Evans Memorial Chapel Poteau, OK with Jimmy Waldrop officiating.  Interment will follow in the Monroe Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral  home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends

ROBERT DEAN THORNBURG, SR.




Robert Dean Thornburg, Sr., 59, of Fanshawe, OK passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 in Heavener.  Robert was born September 2, 1958 in Jackson, CA to Troy and Audrey (Summers) Thornburg. He was preceded in death by his Father Troy Dee Thornburg, Brother Billy Dee Thornburg, and Grandparents Dee and Ora Thornburg, Willy and Dessie Summers. 

Robert was a truck driver, he loved to hunt and fish, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Linda Thornburg of the home; 6 children Josh Thornburg of Pauls Valley, OK, Robert Ben Thornburg of Wilburton, Brian D. Thornburg of Cameron, Robert Dean Thornburg, Jr. of Cameron, Jennifer Seyler and husband Curtis of Wister, Kendra Wichman and husband Tim of Concorde, NE; 12 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; Mother Audrey (Summers) Thornburg of Fanshawe; Brother Rick Thornburg of Fanshawe, Sister Shirley Sumpter and husband Joe of Fanshawe; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

MARY REIDY


Mary Patricia Reidy, 59, of  Howe, OK  passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 in Howe.  Mary was born November 24, 1958 in Poteau, OK to James and Lucille Reidy. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mary was a program coordinator for KIBOIS.

Survivors include her husband Joe Elder of 22 years; children Jacob Reidy and wife Carolyn of Fort Smith, Jensen Bills of Fort Smith, Cristal Brown of Panama, Russell Elder and wife Miranda of Glendale, and Rhonda Jo Gatchek and husband Justin of New Hampshire; 9 Grandchildren Drayton and Kendalyn Olds, Matthew Linton, Darby Brown, Emma Miller, Daniel Brooks, Lacy Miller, Hollie Elder, and Avery Elder; 4 Sisters Sheryl McClure of Oklahoma City, Nancy Howard and husband Larry of Muse, OK, Theresa Embrey and husband Stephen of Poteau, and Kathy Neyland and husband Cliff of Poteau; Brother Kevin Reidy of Broken Arrow;  and her much beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, loved ones and friends. She also loved her KIBOIS family dearly.

Memorial Services will be 10 am, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Evans Memorial Chapel Poteau, OK with Jim Cook officiating.
