Joe Wise


Joe Wise, 82, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, in Poteau.  Joe was born September 16,1935, in Poteau to O.W. "Boots" &  Lois (White) Wise.  He was a veteran of the US Army.  Joe was owner of Wise Tile Co.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mozelle Plummer & Madge Robison; brother, Kenny Wise.

          Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Annette of the home; daughters, Lisa Pickel, Suzanne & Dale Oliver of Poteau; grandchildren, Jennifer & Michael Bailey, Julie & Logan Hayes, Chris & Jessica Gray, Kara & Brice Wilson; great grandchildren, Kylie, Mya, Dylan, Aria, Kase, Axton & Levi; sisters, Wilma Eidschun and Anna LaFevers of Poteau; brother, Don Wise of Poteau; special friends, Marvin Rockman & Ron Pompili;  several nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Southside Baptist Church with Revs. Jim Reed & Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be Michael Bailey, Brice Wilson, Logan Hayes, Jon Pickel, Ron Pompili, Matt Lewis & Dale Oliver.

          The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends

Crystal Hutchins-Winton


          Crystal Hutchins-Winton, 55, of Pocola, OK passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at her home.  Crystal was born December 30, 1962 in Ozark, AR.  Crystal was preceded in death by her father, Bob Hutchins.
          She is survived by her husband, Joey Winton of the home; sons, Tyler Vines of Cedarville, AR, Kyle Vines of Pocola, OK; daughter, Amanda Parks of Pocola, OK; grandchildren, Jayci, Easton &Joel; brother, Eddie Hutchins of Charleston, AR; her mother, Anita Hudson-Meadows of Barling, AR; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
          A Private Memorial will be held at a later date

Louise Moss


         Louise Moss, 81, of Spiro, OK passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, in Ft. Smith, AR.  Louise was born November 28, 1936, in Vian, OK to Kirby Wilfax & Martha Ann (Buttery) Houston.  She was a beautician.  Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donnie Moss and her inherited daughter, Donna Shepherd.

          Survivors include her daughter; Brinda & husband, Don Garrett; inherited daughter,  B-Etta & husband Jimmy Moore; son, Joe & wife Darlene Mannon; 5 grandchildren,Sean Mannon, Melissa Jackson, Leslie McCormack, Barry Moore & Dana Waldrop; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Couball  & husband, Joe, Linda Russell & husband Richard, twin sister, Rema James; brother, Denny Houston; extended family- Bruce Moss, like a son, & Teresa Madden, like a daughter; all of her beauty shop ladies and her church family; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the First Assembly of God Church  (204 N. Illinois Ave) Panama, OK with Rev. Danny Sutherland and Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Box Cemetery, Vian, OK. 

          The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.


Barbara Barnes


       Barbara Elaine Barnes, 91, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, in Pocola, OK.  Barbara was born August 31, 1926 in San Bernardino, CA to Edward M. & Cleo (George) Thompson.  She was a bookkeeper.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Dennis Winn.

          Survivors include her husband, Gene of the home; daughter, Donna Russell; son, Lewis Winn; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.

Artie Bernice Stivers


           Artie Bernice Stivers, 91, of Howe, OK passed away  Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in Howe.  Artie was born January 13, 1927, in Poteau, OK to Charles & Hazel (Thayer) Hester.   She was a graduate of Oklahoma State University.  Artie was a retired elementary school teacher for 30 years.  Artie had  such a generous spirit, volunteering for many years for Project Compassion and at the Oaks Nursing Home.  She also spent many years volunteering in many projects at the First Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ross B. Stivers  (5/14/2004) & her parents.
          Survivors include her aunt, Rhoda Thayer of Ft. Smith, AR;  nephews, Jack Pebworth of OKC, David Esserman; niece, Linda Strang; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
          Services will be 10 am, Monday, March 26, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Poteau, with  Jim Cook  officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bob Stacy, Gene Moore, Ronnie Blake, Carl Maxwell, Jeff Jensen and Don Britton.
          In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Howe Public Schools in Artie's memory.
