James Walker



James Harve Walker, 86, of Mustang, Oklahoma passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 in Oklahoma City.  James was born February 10, 1931 in Stapp, Oklahoma to Chester & Ida Mae (Livingston) Walker.  He was a veteran of the US Air Force.  James was a retired postal inspector. 



James was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley F. (McLaughlin) Walker on March13, 2005.  Also preceding him were children, Johnny & Mickey.



James is survived by his son, James of Mustang, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Jerry Byous



Jerry Donald Byous, 71, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in Poteau.  Jerry was born July 22, 1946 in Gustine, CA to Clyde Ellis & Martha Evelee (Covey) Byous.   He was a construction contractor and was a veteran of the US Army Reserve.    Jerry volunteered at Choctaw.  He attended Ellis Chapel Church in Wister.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and his parents, Clyde & Martha Byous.



Survivors include his daughters, Sherry Fite of Wister, OK,  Terri & Edward Navarro, of Poteau, OK, Christy & Carl Sisk of Talihina, OK; brothers, John & Lisa Byous, James & Rebecca Byous; sister, Joyce Hair; grandkids, Justin & Audra Byous, Edward & Nicole Navarro, Dakota Navarro, Tyler Fite, Tory Byous & Callie Byous; great grandkids, Jaedon Byous, Jedidiah Byous;  first wife, Mary Heston; nieces, Shannon & Patrick Ruddy & Melissa McCormick; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at graveside at Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, OK with interment following.  
 The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.




Betty Hammons




Bessie Elizabeth "Betty"  Hammons, 92, of Wister, OK passed away Monday, November 20, 2017  in Wister.  Bessie was born August 17, 1925 in Poteau, OK to Randolph & Bessie (Self) Kirk.  She married Maurice Hammons on October 28, 1942 in Wister & they remained married until his death on August 17, 2005.  Betty traveled with Maurice during the early years of their marriage while he trained pilots in the Naval Air Corp during WW II.  They lived in several places in the  southeastern part of the United States during that time.  After the end of Maurice's time in the Navy they returned to Wister and began raising a family and spent most of their lives in Wister.  Betty was known for her wonderful biscuits and Kirk sister sandwiches.  Many delicious meals were enjoyed by family and friends over the years.  She was an avid camper and fisherman.  Many wonderful "fish fries" were enjoyed by all.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Hammons; daughter, Tracy Lou; son, Ted A.; grandsons, Jake & Justin; sister, Hattie Lou Rollins.



Betty is survived by daughters Maureen Hudlow and husband, Charles, Mary Qualls and husband Vernon;  son, Tom B. Hammons; daughter in law, Kathy Hammons; 7 grandchildren, Melinda O'Dell, Steven Hudlow, Scott Hammons, Christina Morgan, Candice James, Andy Hammons, Ashley Stacy ; 17 great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Friday, November 24, 2017 at Wister Faith Community Church (formerly First United Methodist-Wister) with Sam Walden officiating.  Interment  will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be Andy Hammons, Steven Hudlow, Caleb Stacy, Jeff Stacy, Jon Morgan, Carl Odell, Matt Mastrilli. Honorary pallbearer will be Chuck Tower. 



The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Latricia Bowden



Latricia Ann Bowden, 68, of Shady Point, OK passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Latricia was born January 7, 1949 in Tulsa, OK to Henry & Nellie (Mendenhall) Blaylock.  She was preceded in death by her parents & a son, Worth Lee Bowden.

Survivors include her husband Elmer of the home; daughter & husband, Malita & Bryan Voyles; grandsons & their wives, Troy & Cassandra  Moody, Chris & Megan Moody, Krag Bowden; 3 great granddaughters; 2 great grandsons; other relatives; loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Monday, November 20, 2017 at Latham Independent Church with Pastors Cody & Sonya Nix officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairhill/Knothole Cemetery, Cameron, OK.

Bob Thompson




Robert Patrick  "Bob" Thompson, 59, of Howe, OK passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 at his home.  Robert was born May 4, 1958 in Pittsburgh, PA to Frederick & Mary Joanne (Campbell) Thompson. 



Survivors include his wife, Terre Lee of the home; daughters, Page Lee Cosgrove and Jade Nichole Cosgrove; son, Daniel Nicholas Rocha,  Bradley Wayne Cosgrove, Chad Hershel Cosgrove; grandchildren, Nicholas Aaron Rocha, Paisley Breann Simpson, Chesnie Leann Southerland, Jacelynn Rachelle Jiminez, Callie Lane Cosgrove, Robert Joseph Rocha, Easton Kade Cosgrove,  Kinlee Nichole Wooten, Emma Claire Ramsey, Taylee Ann Wooten, Jasper Knox Wooten, Aydan Wooten;  mother, Mary Joanne Thompson; brothers, Frederick Michael Thompson & wife Jennifer, Mark Edward Thompson & wife Lucy; niece, Leslie Nicole Thompson Caldwell,  husband Cameron & son, Lane; nephews, Michael Devlin, Clayton Alexander, Robert Parker & Zachary Joseph Thompson; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 11 am, Friday,  November 17, 2017 at Solid Rock Church in Panama, OK with Rev. Johnny Painter officiating.  Interment will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Wister, OK.
