Debbie McGrath



Debbie J. McGrath, 44, of Bokoshe, OK passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Debbie was born December 10, 1972 in Ft. Smith, AR to Gary Cloud,  Deborah Monks.  She worked at Whirlpool.  She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Alford Monks and Bob Remer; brother in law, Kyle McGrath.

Survivors include her husband, Roger McGrath; parents, Johnny & Debbie Janway,  Gary Cloud of Oklahoma City,OK; brother, Jason & Alba Cloud of Panama, OK; niece & nephew, Dacey Cloud, Jayce Cloud; sisters in law, Zelda Mecom, Wanda Wicks, Mary Jo Ray; brother in law, Carroll McGrath; grandparents, Jack & Imogene Harris, Jane Remer, Janice Monks; mother in law, Mary Lou McGrath; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Jim Cook officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK.  Pallbearers will be Al Monks, Jamie Darneal, Carroll McGrath, Wesley Ray, Billy Caldwell and Robert Mecom.

The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Chelsey DeLaine Hargrove


Chelsey DeLaine Hargrove, 32, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 near Spiro, OK.  Chelsey was born  December 20, 1984 in Longview, TX to Steven & Peggy (Lemley) Hargrove. 



Survivors include her mother & father, Peggy Tomblinson and Les Gillham; son, Christopher Hetherington; grandma, Shirley Williamson of TX; brother, Noah Hargrove of Poteau, OK; niece, Alyssa "Tooty" Hargrove; sister in law, Brooklyn Hoyt; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Memorial services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Bill Burgess officiating. 



The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

HAROLD H MINGS M.D.



Harold H. Mings, M.D., 84, of LeFlore, OK passed from this life Wednesday, April 19, 2017.  He graduated from LeFlore High School then went on to earn his baccalaureate and doctor of medicine degrees from the University of Oklahoma.  He completed his general surgery internship at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX and his surgery residency at St. Anthony's in Oklahoma City.  From there he served in the Army medical unit at Ft. Chaffee in Fort Smith, AR and joined Holt Krock Clinic in 1962.  He practiced general surgery at Sparks, St. Edwards, Crawford County and Sallisaw Hospitals.  He was a pioneer in gastric bypass surgery and was devoted to his patients and the practice of medicine.  He had a distinguished career and served the community through his roles as CEO of Holt Krock Clinic and as a member of both Fort Smith and LeFlore school boards.



"Doc" lived an interesting life and was passionate about many things.  He was a member of Snake Root Society fishing club, Wilderness Club, Deer Camp, the Brotherhood and LeFlore Cemetery Association.  He was an active member of LeFlore First Baptist Church as Sunday School teacher and Bible study leader.  He enjoyed his cattle ranch, many weekends at Lake Ouachita with family and  friends, and fishing adventures where he enjoyed enticing bass with his mastery of the plastic worm.



Harold was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend  He loved his family with all his heart.  He is survived by his wife Marcella Sue and her grandchild Chris Wyatt, his daughters Michelle Gasaway and her husband, Jay, of Witcherville,  Marta Loyd and her husband Greg of Petit Jean Mountain, and his son Harold  Mings Jr. of Fort Smith.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Brandon Cassidy (Lisa), Jaye Gasaway (Brooke), Joel Gasaway, Susan McDonald (Jason), Scott Loyd (Krista), Bryan Loyd, Caroline Reynolds (Rustin), Michael Mings, Georganne Mings, and great grandchildren, Finn Cassidy, Annie McDonald, Meredith McDonald and Clair Reynolds, stepchildren, Debbie Biggs (Mark) of Blanchard, OK, Brett Turner (Lisa), Marty Turner of Spokane, WA, seven step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ruth and Harvey Mings and stepfather Cotton Allen.

            The family wishes to express deep appreciation to his caregivers which included Mercy Hospital, Health South Rehab, Methodist Village, Memory Lane and Peachtree Hospice.

           Memorial services will be 11:30 am, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the LeFlore Baptist Church, 40110 Line St., LeFlore, OK 74942 with burial at the LeFlore Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be his grandsons and son in laws.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LeFlore Cemetery Association at PO Box 132, LeFlore, OK  74942.

Opal Mae Willis



Opal Mae Willis, 74, of Bokoshe, OK  ( formerly of Poteau) passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Bokoshe, OK.  Opal was born June 22, 1942 in McCurtain, OK to Semper & Opal Marie Tubby.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Willis; her parents; brothers, Lewis & Jerry Tubby and sister, Louise V. Tubby-Higgins.



Survivors include her children, Rickey & Sheryl Gentry of Ardmore, OK, Tony Gentry of Lone Grove, OK, Ladonna & Danny Fry of Mansfield, AR, Chad & Amy Gentry of Hartford, AR; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, William & Linda Tubby of Howe, OK, James Edward Tubby of Kingston, OK, Norman & Linnie Tubby of Liberty Mounds, OK, Bobby Tubby of McAlester, OK ; sister, Anna  Jean & William Lafferty of Bokoshe, OK; several nieces, nephews; her special companion, Tiffy her poodle; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will 2 pm, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Star Baptist Church, near Keota, OK with Rev. Rick McClaskey officiating.  Interment will follow at Short Mountain Cemetery, Cowlington.  Pallbearers will be Bill Tubby Jr., Curt Cosper, Derek Edwards, Cody Gentry, Danny Fry and Lewis Tubby.



The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

James Wright



James Normand Wright, 83, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  James was born July 1,   1933 in DeQueen, AR to James & Lela Mae (Jackman) Wright.  James was a 20 year service retired Captain in the US Marines; a 38 year pastor of New Providence Baptist Church in Slatonville; a 20 year counselor with Western Arkansas Counseling and Guidance Center.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol; children, Donna,  Gay,  Robert, Cheryl, Rhonda and Mike; grandson, Leonard.

He is survived by his wife Nellie (Carter) Wright; daughters & sons in law, Liddie & Jim Brown of Inola, OK, Joey & Bill Caughern of Hodgen, OK; 15 grandchildren, Gary McGinnis II, James McGinnis, Julie Ellis, Maj. Michelle Wylie, Jeff McGinnis, Anthony Rader, Jason Ramsey, Wyatt Heavener, Clay Caughern, Katy Caughern, Peyton Benham, Keelee Benham, Michael Richards, James Richards, Josh Richards; 15 great grandchildren, Micah McGinnis, Gary McGinnis III, Scott McGinnis, Mariah Harris, Dylan Walls, Joseph Wylie, Katey Clausen, Coy Michael McGinnis, Aiden Altom, Kale Altom, James Rader, Nicole Rader, Jessica Pope, Nathan Newman, Jacob Newman; sister & brother in law, Dorothy & Ray Cunningham of Austin, TX; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jerry Welch officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Gary McGinnis II, James McGinnis, Jeff McGinnis, Anthony Rader, Jason Ramsey, Wyatt Heavener, and Clay Caughern.
