Delmer Benson

Delmer Lee Benson, 97, of  Heavener, OK passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Poteau.  Delmer was born October 31, 1918 in Heavener, Ok to Marvin C. & Lanie H. (Jackson) Benson.  He was a blacksmith.  Delmer was a member of the Assembly of God  Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Altie Mae Benson; sons, Jesse & Eugene.

Survivors include his Daughters, Virginia Hickman of Reserve, NM, Peggy & Bill Terry of Poteau, OK, Carolyn & John Evans of  Lovings, OK, Janis & Dewayne Tucker of Hackett, AR, Patricia Benson of the home; sons, Bobby Benson of Heavener, OK, Kenneth & Virginia Benson of Pryor, OK;  numerous grand, great and great great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Donald Benefield and Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Hontubby Cemetery, Hontubby, OK.

The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Ken Hammond

Viewing will be today, Thursday, Feb 18  from 2 - 8 pm. 

Kenneth Leslie Hammond II, 67, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Tulsa, OK.  Ken was born September 2, 1948 in Purcell, OK to Kenneth Leslie & Betty Jane (White) Hammond.  He was a dentist.  Ken was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Poteau.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth "Jack" & Betty Jane Hammond.

Survivors include his wife Susan of the home;  3 daughters & sons in law, Jennifer & Scott Miller of Keller, TX,  Sarah & Cody Bradshaw of Frisco, TX, Kendra & Chad Yandell of Poteau, OK; 7 grandchildren, Jaxon, Jake, Grayson, Brett, Hammond, Jace & AnnaClaire; 2 sisters, Kay Brown of Springfield, MO, Kimberly Campbell & husband, Don of Irvine, CA; nephews, Aaron Brown of Springfield, MO, Derek Campbell & Brian Campbell of Irvine, CA; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Memorial services will be 10 am, Monday, February 22, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Perkin officiating.

Rebecca King

Rebecca Elizabeth King, 60, of Heavener, OK passed away  Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Heavener.  Becky was born November 1, 1955 in East Liverpool, OH to John Lawrence & Virginia May Channels.  She was  a registered nurse.  She was preceded in death by her mother,  and her grandparents.

Survivors include her daughter & son in law, Rachel & Chad Allen of Howe, OK; son & daughter in law, Andrew & Judy King of East Liverpool, OH; grandchildren, Preston, Gracelyn, Selah, Kendall; brother, Jim & Brenda Channels of  Poteau, OK; father, Lawrence Channels of Howe, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be  2 pm, Monday,  February 22, 2016 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK.  Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.

The family will be at the funeral home  on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm  to visit with relatives & friends.

KENDALL LYNN

                       William Kendall Lynn, 39, of Olathe, KS (formerly of Poteau, OK)  passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 in Olathe.  Kendall was born in Poteau, OK on September 11, 1976 to Bill & Linda (Thompson) Lynn.  He was a Deputy US Marshall, a Captain in the Oklahoma National Guard 180th Infantry; he was a veteran of  the US Army serving in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Bosnia.  He was a 1995 graduate of Poteau High School.  Kendall was preceded in death by his father, Bill Lynn.

Survivors include his wife, Gwen of the home; his children, Christopher, Garrett & Gina; mother, Linda Yarbrough and husband Ricci of Arkoma, OK;  brothers & sisters in law, Kelly & Molly Lynn; their children, Sara, Kali & Presley of Norman, OK, Kyle & Mitzy Lynn; their children, Kolton, Justyn & Ky of Poteau, OK; sisters & brother in law, Dana & Greg Welton ; their children, Jacquie, Kaci and Drew of Poteau, OK; Aimee Lynn of Oklahoma City, OK; brother in law, Jerry Pitchford & wife Kelli; their children, Jace, Jett & Maci of Poteau; father in law & mother in law, Bill & Lynne Pitchford of Heavener, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Cross Community Church in Poteau, OK with Ed Saucier officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. 

The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends

Don Williams

Donald Dean Williams - October 16, 1945-February 7, 2016 - born to Jack & Helen Williams in Panama, OK in Panama, OK.  At 2 yrs old Don moved to Gallup, NM where he attended elementary and high school.  After high school Don enlisted in the US Navy where he spent four years including 2 tours in Vietnam, earning the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Metal (with device).  After discharge  Don worked at several jobs in the area.  Don married Paulette Bell in 2013. 

Don's family includes his wife; 2 stepsons, David Bell (Tara) and Brian (Amy); sisters, Judy (Rose) Toman, Marie Wilkins, Peggy Ross & Ruth Doris; brother in law, Mike Toman; several nieces, nephews and 4 step grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby.  A private family service will be scheduled at a later date.
