Norman Reed Johnson



Norman Reed Johnson, 76, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Poteau.  Norman was born June 26, 1939 in Wenatchee, WA to Norman E. & Dorothy (Reed) Johnson.  He was a pharmacist.  Norman was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; 4 daughters, Cheryl & Victor Raposo of San Jose, CA, Dawn Cavallaro of Shady Point, OK, Victoria & Robert Moitoso of Hollister, CA, Jessica Johnson Hardesty & Shawn Gilgo of Bixby, OK; 6 grandchildren, Justin & wife Kala, Gino, Gunnar, Victor, Vanessa, Garrick; 1 great grandson, Jett; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Thursday,  October 1, 2015  at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with  Jim Cook officiating.  Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Charles Edward Samuels




 Charles Edward Samuels, 64, of  Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Poteau.  Charles was born October 22, 1950 in DeQueen, AR to James Edward & Selma (Deaton) Samuels.  He worked in a rock yard. 



Survivors include his daughters, Amanda Samuels of Gore, OK and Breana Samuels of Poteau, OK; sister, Marie Whitley of Texarkana, TX; brothers, Benny Samuels and Jimmy Samuels of DeQueen, AR; other children that he cared for, Ashley Masterson, Courtney Gibson, Steven Johnson & Gary Hecht;  life long friend, Darla Masterson; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Monday, September 28, 2015 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Terry Cripe officiating.

Shelia Kay Brown




Shelia Kay Brown, 61, of  Pocola, OK passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR after a long battle with leukemia.  Shelia was born April 18, 1954 in Heavener, OK to Jimmie Lee & Elizabeth (Green) Morris.   She was retired from TRANE.  Her father preceded her in death as well as her son Bryan Brown.



She is survived by her husband, Terry "Glen" Brown of the home; daughter, Susan Ortega of Howe, OK; grandchildren, Brandon Ortega & Ashley Branum; mother, Elizabeth Montgomery of Hodgen, OK; sister, Pam Maulk of Ada, OK; brothers, Steve Morris of Arkoma, OK, Gary Morris of Hodgen, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Memorial services will be 4 pm, Friday, September 25, 2015 at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola, OK with Brant Toney officiating. 



In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Terry Doyle Dodson





Terry Doyle Dodson was born in Oklahoma City, January 19, 1954 to J. L. and ILA Dodson, and parted this life September 5, 2015.  He attended school at Northwest Classen High School, OSU OKC and  Cameron University, where in 2003 he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems.  Terry began working for the State of Oklahoma in 1990 in the Office of Finance.  Ten years later, he began working at the State Department of Health, then the Department of Public Safety as an Information Systems Operation Specialist, where he worked until retirement in February, 2014.  His greatest passion was riding rollercoasters.  He was an active member for many years of the Roller Coaster Enthusiasts, and has been all over the United States to different amusement parks, specifically to ride their roller coasters.  He only mentioned recently that he probably wouldn’t be able to ride them anymore.  Terry was predeceased by his parents, J.L. Dodson and Ila (Burton) Dodson, his older brother Jerry Lynn Dodson, and his younger brother, Garry Rease Dodson.  
     He is survived by his two nephews, John L. Dodson and Adam M. Dodson, both of Oklahoma city; Aunt and Uncle Jackie and Clyde Cauthen, Pinellas Park, Florida; cousins in Howe, Poteau, and Pocola, Oklahoma; cousins also Clearwater Beach, Gulfport and  St. Petersburg, Florida and a host of friends and co-workers.
      A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00am at the Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, OK., with Rev. Jerry Townley officiating.  Pallbearers will be John Dodson, Adam Dodson, Joe Mode, Steve Benham & J.D. Reed.  Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Cauthen, Keith Cauthen and Kevin Cauthen.
