Chuck Fountain



 -  Evans in Pocola, OK-
Charles Allen "Chuck" Fountain, 46, of Spiro, OK passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Fayetteville, AR.  Chuck was born July 28, 1969 in Ft. Smith, AR to Drew & Rose Fountain.  He was co-owner of Fountain Automotive.  Chuck was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roland Fountain; grandparents, Ed & Ruby Kozderka.



Survivors include his sons, Allen &wife Britanie Fountain, Jeffrey & wife Artie Fountain of Spiro, OK; daughters, Kacey & husband Jon McGowen of Pocola, OK, Brandi & husband Tony Paul of Spiro, OK, Destini Fountain ; his parents, Drew & Rose Fountain ;  sister Vivian Michelle "Shelly" Fountain; brother Dewey Franklin & wife Christina Fountain  all of Rock Island, OK; 8 grandchildren and one more expected.



Services will be 10 am, Thursday, August 27, 2015 graveside at Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola, OK with Rev. Robert Hill & Rev. Scott Harrison officiating.  Interment will follow.  Pallbearers will be Allen, Jeffrey, Dewey & Alex Fountain, Alex Jones "Jonesy", Jon McGowen, Tony Paul and Eddie Kozderka.



The family will be at the funeral home in Pocola on Wednesday from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.


Jim DeCamp



James Andrew DeCamp, 89, of Poteau, OK passed away  Friday, August 21, 2015 in Talihina, OK.  Jim was born October 6, 1925 in Muskogee, OK to Elmer Dale & Ora (Hildabrand) DeCamp.  He was a veteran of the US  Navy.  He was retired as District Manager for OG&E.  Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church - Poteau.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim's activities and honors included President of Junior Chamber of Commerce in Muskogee, OK, President of Chamber of Commerce in Poteau, OK, served on the board of directors at Poteau State Bank for 20 years, Poteau News & Sun "Man of the Year" 1972,  Lifetime Contribution Award 2002, Rotary President & Rotary Paul Harris Award, plus many others.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann of the home; 1 daughter & son in law, Pam & Jim Ernst of Owasso, OK; 1 son, Dale West DeCamp of Poteau, OK; 4 grandchildren, Daz DeCamp, Matthew Ernst, Drew DeCamp, Thad Ernst; 1 great grandson, Owen James Patton; 1 sister, Daleora Bohanon of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 brother, Joe Donald DeCamp of Desert Hot Springs, CA; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Perkin officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK.  Pallbearers will be Daz DeCamp, Matthew Ernst, Thad Ernst, Jim Ernst, Jeff Shockley and Joe K. Thomas III.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Poteau or the Alzheimers Foundation.


Dub Chandler



William David "Dub" Chandler Jr., 92, of  Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 in  Poteau.  Dub  was born July 7, 1923 in Horatio, AR to William David Sr. & Betty (VanScoder) Chandler.  He was a veteran of the US Navy.  Dub retired as maintenance supervisor for Ashland  Chemical.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Lucille Chandler and all of his siblings.



Survivors include his daughters & sons in law,  E. Catherine Knight of Hoschton, GA, Anna M. & Joel Fengel of Villisca, IA, Theresa L. Mace of Braselton, GA, Carolyn & Bud Brannam of Huntington, AR; sons & daughters in law, Raymond L. & Leslie Chandler of Poteau, OK, David L. & Carla Chandler of Quartz Hill, CA, Thomas W. & Tammy Chandler of Fayetteville, AR; 29 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren;  numeous  relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm , Thursday, August 27, 2015  at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ian & Christopher Knight, Brian, Michael, Cody, Tyler & Dave Chandler, & Eric Fengel.



The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Ruby Johnston



Ruby H. Johnston, 88, of  Poteau, OK passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 in Poteau.  Ruby was born May 13, 1927 in Lone Star, OK to Henry & Agness  (Keifer) Heflin.  Ruby was a CNA.  Her primary occupation was 'taking care of everyone'.



Ruby is survived by her daughter & son in law, Shirley & Jim Seale; 2 granddaughters, Leslie & Dennis Yochum, Joni & Adam Hagelberger all of Poteau, OK.   5 great grandchildren, Candice & Cailey Yochum, Tristin, Blair & Chloe Hagelberger; numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Monday, August 24, 2015 at Southside Baptist Church, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Reed and Jim Seale officiating.  Interment will follow in Maxey Cemetery, Wister, OK.  Pallbearers will be Steve Akers, Dennis Yochum, Adam Hagelberger, Rob Seale, Chad Craig and Paul Mode.



The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 - 4 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Herman Lee Ragland



Herman Lee Ragland, 97, of Talihina, OK passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Herman was born June 13, 1918 in LeFlore, OK to John W. & Clara (Wyatt) Ragland.  He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII.  He worked at the nuclear branch of the US Naval Ammunition Depot in McAlester, OK.  Herman was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Zula Cook, Evelyn Mullins and Lois Roberts; brothers, Harley, and Arley.

Herman was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Hartshorne, OK where he served as Sunday School teacher and as a deacon for many years.  He graduated from LeFlore High School in 1935 at the age of 16.  He also attended Eastern Oklahoma A&M College at Wilburton before joining the Army in the late 1930's.   He completed his service but re-enlisted during WWII and was deployed to Italy. 

Immediately following the war, he resumed working at the Naval Ammunition Depot at McAlester.  Upon retirement from the Depot, he had reached the position of "Head of Nuclear Weapons Branch".  With the ending of that phase of  his career, he pursued his dream of raising cattle at Cedar Creek Hill.   Cattle ranching  was very important to him.  Herman loved spending time with his family whether it was working with cattle, fishing, hunting or just visiting with them. 

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Estelle Ragland of Talihina, OK; daughters & sons in law, Janet & Dale Riley of Eufaula, OK, Susan & Reed Heflin of Oologah, OK; sons & daughter in law, Thomas Lee Ragland of San Diego, CA, Jerry & Brenda Ragland of Broken Bow, OK; grandchildren & spouses, Tim & Lauren Ragland, Bryan Mary Ann Riley, Brent Heflin, Stephannie Ragland, Andra & Greg Pinkston and Linden & Sasha Down; 7 great grandchildren, Erin, Daylen and Anderson Riley, Mason & Matthew Ragland, Cole & Logan Pinkston; 3 sisters, Bobbie Duncan, Imogene Huckabee, Margaret McNiel; brother, Doyle Ragland of Poteau, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 1 pm Saturday, August 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church, LeFlore, OK with Rev. Larry Matthiesen officiating.  Interment will follow in LeFlore Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be  Thomas Ragland, Jerry Ragland,  Dale Riley, Reed Heflin, Tim Ragland,  Bryan Riley.  
      You may come to the church at noon to visit with family and view prior to the service.
