Isabell Schmidt-Creech

Funeral Service for Isabell Schmidt-Creech, 85 of Wister, Oklahoma will be at 2 pm on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Evans and Miller Chapel in Poteau, Oklahoma with Reverend Amber Kirkendoll officiating. Burial will follow at Stapp Zoe in Zoe, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
Isabell was born on March 7, 1937 in Page, Oklahoma to Dovie (Staton) Trotter and Manuel (Mack) King and passed away on May 26, 2022 in Spiro, Oklahoma.
Known as Isie to most, Isabell worked as an electrician at Johnson Controls in Poteau for 29 years before retiring in 1998. Isie loved Jesus, her family, Elvis, and country music, though there is some debate about the order of importance of the last three. Until her health no longer made it possible, Isie was an avid hunter and loved to fish (and she could tell fish tales with the best of them!).
Isie was blessed to have two loves of her life. She was married to Edward Schmidt for 41 years (1956-1997) and Ed Creech for 12 years (2006-2018).
Isie was an excellent cook, specifically known for her cherry cheesecake and lumpy mashed potatoes. Being both competitive and quick witted, two traits passed down to her grandchildren, Isie loved to engage folks in card games and dominoes…and her opponent received no mercy, a universally accepted truth.
And if there are any bowlers in heaven reading this, Isie was in a bowling league. Don’t let her fool you!
Isie was smart, sassy, generous, and had a wicked sense of humor. Her family was everything to her…especially the babies in the family.
Isie was incredibly loved and will be truly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her and being loved by her.
Survivors include: daughter, Deby Kirkendoll and husband Clint; 2 sons, Mack Schmidt and wife Charlotte, Reno Schmidt and wife Gloria; grandchildren, Amber Kirkendoll and wife Tiffany, Michele Rene Schmidt, Kendra Bolen, Josh Kirkendoll and wife Stormy, Alex Schmidt and wife Morgan, Kristin Morrison and husband Robert, Angel Schmidt, Colleen Efurd and husband Terry, Jason Gillette, Russ Dye and wife Ginger; 3 sisters, Carol Dickson and husband Don, Helen Merritt and husband John, Odie Winters and husband Ron; great grandchildren, Lilly Kirkendoll, Peyton Owens, Reiya Bolen, Emma Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Asher Kirkendoll, Ashlynn Kirkendoll, Hunter Dye. Numerous nieces and nephews and host of loved ones and friends.
Preceded in death by parents; first husband Edward Schmidt and second husband Ed Creech; brothers, Bob Trotter, Bill Trotter, and Al Trotter.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8.
