Bobby James Brannon

Bobby James Brannon, 80, of Arkoma, OK passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020.  Bobby was born March 21, 1939 in Pine Valley, OK to Ammon James & Jewel Dean (Hall) Brannon.   He graduated from Fanshawe High School in 1957.   He was an Elder in the Community Church of Christ in Trona, CA.  Bobby was a Quiet, Kind, Gentle, Loving, Christian, Country, Dedicated Family man.  He met the loved of his life, Mickey Rogers in Trona, CA and they married in July 1966.  They had their first child, Melissa in 1968 then moved back “home” to Fanshawe, OK where their second child Bryan was born in 1971.  Bobby loved the outdoors.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman; a gifted wildlife photographer and was a dedicated OU sports fan especially football.  He loved classic country music and Bible Hymns.  His favorite thing in the world was watching his daughter, son and granddaughters play sports and he never ever missed a game if he could help it!  He was their biggest fan and was so proud of them all!  His favorite pastime especially in later years was walking through the woods at the Fanshawe  homeplace where he grew up as a boy and going to the mountains enjoying the beautiful landscapes and scenery.      Bobby was a veteran of the US Air Force. He retired from Whirlpool after 30 years as an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 years, Mickey Rogers Brannon in November 2016; sister, Helen Rana Barrett; brothers, Gene & Lonnie Brannon.

           Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Brannon-Bartels & husband Jon of Bentonville, AR; son, Bryan  Brannon & his wife Rebecca of Fanshawe, OK; granddaughters, Kassidy Brannon-Bartels , Masey Brannon & Kynli Brannon & their mother, Lori Heaton Wood;  brother, Neil Brannon and wife Gail of Arkoma, OK; nieces, Launa Brannon Benson, Kimberly Brannon Kramer, Joy Rana & Jeana Brannon Allen; sister in law, Dawna Brannon of Poteau, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

        Services will be 2 pm, Monday at Fanshawe Community of Christ, Fanshawe, OK with Sally McGowen officiating.  Interment will follow at Fanshawe Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bryan Brannon, Jon Bartels, David Benson, Shawn Womack, Paul Pulley & Wes McGowen.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry McAlester, John Samuels, Ron Glenn and Buck Cauthron.

The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
