Joseph Allen Sabatucci Sr., 76, of Poteau, OK passed
away Thursday, November 8, 2018 in Ft. Smith, AR. Joe was born December 29, 1941 in Long Beach,
CA to Vincent & Jo Ellen (Been) Sabatucci.
A 1959 graduate of Hartford High School Joe was a veteran of the US Navy, serving from
1959-1962. Joe was a graduate of the OBA
School of Bank Administration & the University of Colorado Graduate School of Bank Investments &
Financial Management. Joe started working in the mail room at First National
Bank in Ft. Smith from which he progressed to being the Vice President of
Central National Bank in Poteau. Joe
also served CNB as Chief Financial Officer.
He was recognized by the Federal Reserve as one of the top cash
management experts in the nation. He started the Southeastern Oklahoma Bank Assoc. & served as director. Joe also served as Treasurer and
Administrative Board Member of the First United Methodist Church of Poteau He
was a 50 year Bankers Club member. He
was in the softball Hall of Fame. Joe
held every position in the Poteau Rotary Club.
He was instrumental in starting the Trojan Fan Club and the PARC. “Some” of
the organizations where he held offices include: Poteau Chamber of Commerce, Summer Youth Board, Poteau
Community Chest, Poteau Softball Assoc., LeFlore County Bowling Assoc.. Joe was a great supporter of everything
Poteau. He was preceded in death by his
parents and son, Micah.
Survivors include his wife of 51
years, Connie; daughters, Amanda Wilson & Paul, Andrea Traywick; son,
Joseph Sabatucci Jr all of Poteau; grandchildren, Brice Wilson & Kara,
Blake Wilson & Anna Carver, Kendy Jo Traywick; great grandchild, Kase Wilson; sisters, Vinessa Ledbetter &
Rheta Brown; brothers, Ricky, Pete & Sam; other relatives, loved ones and
friends.
Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday,
November 13, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, Poteau with Jim Perkin
& Jim Cook officiating. Burial will
follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Midland, AR.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Mead, Paul Quirk, Steve Holton, Chris Fenton,
Mike Hall and Bill Holstein, Brice Wilson, Blake Wilson, Terry Mullins.
The family will be at the funeral home
on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
