Doris June Maddox, 77, of
Poteau, OK passed away Monday, November 12, 2018, in Poteau. Doris was born August 25, 1941, in Foreman,
AR to Willie Perry & Edna Marie (Estep) Akins. She graduated from Springlake HS, TX in
1959. She worked as a
secretary/bookkeeper for: Calvin Price in Littlefield, TX, Rheem, Larkin & CA Wilson Co. in Waxahachie,
TX, and Pierce Tire Ctr. & F.L. Holton.
She was a member of the Shady Point Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents;
brother, Alvin Akins.
Survivors include her sisters, Esther & husband Warren
Miller of Cameron, OK, Wilma & husband Jim Graham of Shady Point, OK; Marie
Akins of Poteau, OK; her adopted children, Rachel, Rebekah & Joel Maddox of TX; other relatives, loved ones and many friends.
Services will be 1 pm, Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Shady Point Assembly of God Church with
Rev. Richard Ferguson & Rev. Jim Graham officiating.
Burial will follow in Shady
Point Cemetery.
