Jerry Carpenter



     

Jerry Frank Carpenter, 46, of  Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in Wister.  Jerry was born August 28, 1970 to Frank & Nadine (Warren) Carpenter.  Jerry was an educator for 26 years.  He was an administrator at Wister Schools for 22 years and currently taught  science at Poteau.  The only thing he enjoyed as much as this was being a rancher.  The generosity and kindness he showed to others was immeasurable.  His ability to see the good in others, even when they couldn't see it themselves, was one of his greatest traits.  He had an uncanny confidence in all his children that they were and would become successful adults.  He is celebrating a joyous reunion with his parents & confidant Bob Fields.    He was preceded in death by his parents & father in law, Bo Metzker.

          He is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters & sons in law, Melanie & Dallas Ward of Wister, Kylee & Philip Morris of Heavener; son & daughter in law,  Lane & Kylie Carpenter of Wister;  daughters,  Kimberlyn Carpenter, Bailey Adams;  sons,  Jerret Carpenter, Cole Adams, Hunter Prock;  grandchildren, Bryar, Bronc & Jerra of Wister, Jeffery, Jordan & Judd Morris, Rylan Tobey of  Heavener, Beau Carpenter & Braylynn Adams;  sister & brother in law, Teresa & Ronnie Dupree; nephews Warren Dupree & wife Jenna of Coweta, Walker Dupree of Weatherford; great nephew, Tristen Dupree of Weatherford; great niece, Farrah Dupree of Coweta; other relatives, loved ones and friends.  

          Services will be 11 am, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Wister Gymnasium with Bryan Fields & Clyde Steelman officiating.  Interment will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, OK.  Pallbearers will be Rocky & Ricky Crane, Wes McGowen, Lee Shipman, Lamar Ford, Daniel Ingle, David Bullard & Norman McAlester.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Baldwin, Harmon Robinson, Anthony Borden, Casey Warren..

          The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-7 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
