A.M. “Joker” Sinclair, 90,
of Poteau, OK
passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 in Tulsa,
OK. Joker was born April 2, 1923 in Poteau to
Earnest Austin & Anna Belle (Aydelott) Sinclair. He worked in construction. Joker was a veteran of the US Marine
Corp. He served 7 campaigns in WWII
serving in the Pacific, fighting on every island where he was injured. He also served as an MP. Joker was proud of his military service and
of being an American. He loved to garden
growing various things, including watermelon and flowers. He was a loving family man. He loved his grandchildren and sitting on the
porch whittling. He was preceded in death
by his parents; sister, Geneva Gray; and son, Ernest Marshall Sinclair.
Survivors include his wife
of 66 years, Wanda of the home; son, James Ted & Connie Sinclair of Tahlequah, OK; daughter,
Barbara Sinclair of Sapulpa,
OK; grandchildren, Ernie M. Sinclair
Jr., Michelle L. Sinclair, Dustin Griffith, Abby Griffith, Jamie Sinclair
Dallis, Lindsay Sinclair; 5 great grandchildren; brother, James Leon Sinclair
of San Diego, CA; sisters, Frances Cupp Green and Peg Doyle of Poteau; best
friends, Alicia & Anthony Gorman; other relatives & loved ones; many
beloved friends.
Services will be 2 pm,
Friday, August 30, 2013 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Rev. Jim Cook
& Rev. James Parsley officiating.
Interment will follow in Oakland
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Gray, Terry Gray,
Will Dallis, Aaron Gorman, Anthony
Gorman II, Philip Baldwin.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.
