Harriett June Williams, 88 of Cameron, OK passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Poteau, OK. Harriett was born August 5, 1923 in Sawtelle, CA to Andrew Harry & Lottie Nora (Szymanski) Hoak. She was an accountant. Harriett was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Andrew Pierce & Harry Pierce Williams; and brother, Andy Hoak.
Survivors include her husband, Jack L. Harriet Fallon Kearns Coleman
Harriet Fallon Kearns Coleman, 95, of Summerfield, OK passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 in Grand Rapids, MI. Harriet was born February 11, 1916 in Francis, OK to James Hiram & Bessie Idell (Fallon) Kearns; the youngest of her sisters, Nellie Idell, Grace Elizabeth, & Ruth Eleanor, all deceased. Harriet graduated from East Central State University in Ada, OK in 1937, then from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK in 1939.
She taught school in Ada for four years, LeFlore, OK for eleven years & Talihina, OK for 15 years. She was married for 37 years to Hershal Augusta Coleman, who died in 1984. Harriet volunteered at 9 years old as a babysitter. As an adult, she volunteered as a Future Homemakers of America Leader, at Talimena Drive Information Center, Poteau Hospital Auxiliary, Kerr Center, Carl Albert Community College, and LeFlore Elementary School. She was a member of the Campfire Girls of America as a child. She was a member of Busy Bees Quilting Club for 30 years, Tri-Sigma Sorority for 70 years, and the Methodist Church for all of her life. Harriet tickled family members and innumerable friends with her spunk, wit, generosity, and enthralling stories.
She is survived by her sons, Charles of Norman, OK, Richard (Cindy) of Grand Rapids, MI; niece, Ellen Lee of Tulsa, OK and grandchildren, Iris and Adam of Grand Rapids, MI.
Michigan family and friends visited in Harriet’s honor on Monday, October 24, 2011, at the home of Richard & Cindy Coleman from 6-8 pm. Oklahoma family and friends will memorialize Harriet at Evans & Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, OK at 10 am, Tuesday, April 3, 2012, followed by lunch at Summerfield Community Center, hosted by family and the Busy Bee Quilting Club.

She was a business owner of a café in Poteau where she worked for years. She was retired from St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, AR. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Leslie & Archey McKinney; sisters, Wilma Ketchum & Wanda Wilson.

Phillip Leon Haley, 62, of Arkoma, OK passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. Phillip was born in Corning, AR on July 15, 1949 to Larry Red & Edna Murriel (Crockett) Haley. He was a race car mechanic. Phillip loved to build race car motors. He loved to hunt & fish, ride motorcycles. He loved to harass people in fun. He would tell us, “Enjoy your family while you have them”.

Russel Eugene Hunt, 94, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 in Poteau. Russel was born January 13, 1917 in Barkley, KS to William & Bessie (Hauser) Hunt. He was a truck driver. Russel’s grandchildren were very special to him and he loved them all. Grandson, Zachary, enjoyed spending time with his grandpa trying to beat him at card games. Zachary gave him his haircuts when he was no longer able to go to the barber.

Trucie Elouise Jackson, 85, of Poteau, OK went to be with Jesus on Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Fort Smith, AR. Elouise was born August 14, 1926 in Milard, AR to George & Lizzie Hinson. She was a homemaker and pastor’s wife. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Jackson; and all her brothers & sisters.
She is survived by stepsons, John, James & Billy Jackson; many nieces and nephews that loved her very much. She was a special aunt with a great sense of humor.
Graveside services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Sallisaw City Cemetery, Sallisaw, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. She will be buried next to her loving husband, Rev. Bill Jackson.

Edna was retired from being Pocola High Secretary for 28 years. She also worked at the Motive Parts Warehouse for several years. She and Josh were married for 65 years. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Pocola for over 76 years where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Ella L. Chumley
Ella Louise Chumley, 66, of Panama, OK passed away Tuesday, October 04, 2011 in Fort Smith, AR. Ella was born July 29, 1945 in Galveston, TX to Newlin Burg Jr. & Waltina Nadean (Finley) Travis. Ella was a retired teacher. In her career she taught in Talihina, Catoosa & Pocola Public Schools. Ella belonged to The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, her professional organization for 30 years. She was currently serving as DKG Beta Lambda Chapter Secretary and on the DKG State Nominations Committee as well as the Educational Excellence Committee. She was a past chapter president and served on many other committees at the chapter and state levels. Ella was a member of the Bokoshe United Methodist Church, currently serving as Church Treasurer and on the Advisory Board. Ella joined the FOE (Fraternal Order of Eagle Auxiliary) in March 2001. She held many positions from President in 2004, Secretary of the Auxiliary for 6 years, she was the incoming State Madam President Elect 2011-2012. She was also a member of the Memorial Ritual Team.

Jonathan Carden
Jonathan H. Carden, 29, of Fort Smith, AR passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 in Ft. Smith, AR. Jonathan was born in Ft Smith AR on November 3, 1981 to Randall W. & Donna (Chestine) Carden. He was preceded in death by his half brother, Henry Joe Harrison; step-brother, Chris Carden; and Maternal Grandparents, Margie & Leon Drake.
Survivors include his wife, Tabatha (Langston) Allison of Ft Smith, AR; daughter, Cassie Carden of Roland, OK; son, Corbin Adam Carden; mother, Donna Carden Eller of Poteau, OK; father, Randy Carden of Covington, GA; brother, Jordan Carden of Van Buren, AR; step-brother, Allen Carden of Brooks, GA; paternal grandfather, George W. & wife, Judy Carden of Locust Grove, GA; paternal grandmother of Brooks, GA; numerous aunts & uncles, family & friends; his extended Henry Harrison family of Spiro, OK.
Services will be 10 am, Tuesday – October 4, 2011 at Evans Chapel of Memories – Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook and Rev. Jim Kolb officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris McCoy, Aaron McCoy, Jeff McCoy, Brad Royston, Jason Crase, Tyler Crase. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK

Loyce R. Hall
Loyce R. Hall, 68, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 in Poteau. Loyce was born June 14, 1943 in Big Cedar, OK to Rev. Carl & Mellie (Jones) Pugh. Loyce worked at Country Boy Furniture for 20 years. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Panama, OK where she served as church clerk for 8 years. Loyce loved her church. She loved to sing and going to the Saturday Night Jamboree. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Don McAtee; her only daughter, Tami Branstetter Gottlieb; nephew, Tony Terry; and her parents.
Survivors include her sister and brother in law, Joyce & Don Riddle of Poteau, OK; daughters, Donna Ross, Sandy Ellis & husband, Ken of Poteau; son, Billy Earl McAtee and wife, Randi of Rufe, OK; 6 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; nephews, Mike, David & Ray Terry and their families;special friend, Joyce Sears; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends and her church family.
Services will be 10 am, Saturday – October 8, 2011 at Panama Free Will Baptist Church, Panama, OK with Rev. David Nolan officiating.
Interment will be in Rufe Cemetery, Rufe, OK. Pallbearers will be Kevin Butler, Robert Troutman, Larry Milligan, Terry Lovell, Brian Toney & Brant Toney.
