Ella Chumley worked with Girl Scouts when my oldest daughter was in grade school. Both of my daughters had her in class. It wasn't that long ago that I saw her in Poteau's Wal-mart and she looked great. I had heard that she was sick and hated it so much. Sending the family my deepest sympathy, she will be greatly missed.
ReplyDeleteI wish to extend my deepest sympathies to Ella's family. She touched many lives in a positive way and she will be missed by many friends and sisters in The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, of which she was a part for many years. Our red rose, Ella, is now honored with a white rose. I have lost a dear friend.

Laney and Alisha,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I remember coming to play at your house when we were kids. She and your Dad were always so much fun. I have great memories of your mom. I know it's probably the hardest thing you've ever gone through, just remember God is with you and she is always watching over you both. Love, Christie Michael Mink
May she rest in peace and her memory be for a blessing.

ReplyDeleteI just learned of Ella's passing and I want the family to know that she was loved all over the state. In our business division she was not only active, but caring and fun. Even when things were hectic, she would always end with a positive note. A great teacher and role model.
ReplyDeleteLaney I'm so sorry about your moms passing. I have lost your phone number please call me at 918-235-4448. Love you, Linda Peerson
ReplyDeleteCatoosa High School 1975. Mrs Chumley was my favorite teacher. I took Office Machines and Typing II under her tutelage. Those classes had a profound impact in my career in the Navy as an Informations Technology Specialist operating keypunch machines then computer mainframes operating in multi-Processing, Multi-Programming environments for JCS, CNO, Bureau of Naval Personnel and NATO. Typjng opened doors into a world one can only imagine. For me, it was working in TS commands monitoring and tracking missiles and operation of the Early Warning System. With only two boys in her class,I was the fastest typist in Typing II and she would rub that in the girls who were in the class. I give her much credit for my success in the military !
