Jodie Lynn Dameron-Fox was born on June 10, 1976 in Boise City, Oklahoma. She went to be with her Lord on September 21, 2022. She was 46 years old. She is survived by her husband Steve Fox, her mother Anna Dameron, and her brother Justin Dameron and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Ronald Dameron.
Jodie was adopted into her family at 2 years old. From day one she stole her daddy’s heart and continued to steal the heart of everyone else she ever met.
Jodie was a hairdresser for 27 years in Poteau. She was extremely successful and excellent at her job. It wasn’t just a job though, it was a talent and a gift. She befriended all of her clients and it became a generational relationship. She became part of their families. She was very influential in our community with her faith, friendships, and generosity. If she had something you needed, she would give it. When Jodie was 8 yrs old, she gave her heart to Jesus. Her walk with God led her for the rest of her life. She was very involved in her church. She attended Sugarloaf Christian Fellowship for many years. She sang on the praise team, she volunteered with the youth group, she helped lead a young ladies’ bible study once a week, and served in various capacities. Jodie was always smiling and her presence lit up the room. She was loving, loyal, and fiercely protective of those she loved. She touched the lives of everyone she came into contact with. Jodie was an amazing Aunt. Aunt JoJo had many adopted nieces and nephews that loved her and she would do anything for them. She had a very special place in her heart for her niece Whitney and for her two young cousins Jace and Jude.
On September 22nd, 3 years ago she met the love of her life. One year later, Jodie and Steve were married. They had a loving marriage and spent their precious time together doing their favorite things like laughing, singing, and cooking. Jodie left a legacy of love and laughter. She gave of herself and blessed us all.
In the words of George Strait, “Oh how she sparkled and oh how she shines!”
