William Lerch

 Memorial Service for William Christopher Lerch, 36 of Cameron, Oklahoma will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Heavener VFW in Heavener, Oklahoma. Cremation is under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home in Poteau, Oklahoma.

William was born on November 16, 1985 in Merced, California to Patsy Ann (Steelman) Lerch and Pernell  Adam Lerch and passed away on August 20, 2022 in Cameron, Oklahoma.  He was married to Amanda (Hays) Lerch on June 1, 2019 in Greenwood, Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Lech; grandfather, Harvey Steelman; Great Aunts, Camillia, Esther, Margie; and great grandparents, Merrell and Faye Steelman. William was one of three sons. When he was nine years old he and his family moved to Oklahoma. William was a tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and a wartime Veteran. He did three tours in Iraq. He had four daughters who adored him! William was always the life of any given group he was in. His smile was infectious. He always knew what to say to make you laugh. William did not know a stranger, everyone he met was instantly a friend. He was the most welcoming person who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda Lerch; daughters, Kay, Abigail, Lilly, Everleigh; sisters, Kendra Reese, Stacey Lerch, Shawna Carbone and husband Ryan; brothers, Dustin Lerch, Jordan Lerch and wife Dedra; parents Pernell and Patsy Lerch; grandparents, Chris and Wanda Morgin; nephews, Jarrett Lerch, Bradley Chandler, Zayden Lerch, Liam Key; nieces, Zoey Key, Aria Key, Freya Key; coutless other friends, loved ones, and military brothers.

Viewing will be Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 9am - 8pm, with the family greeting friends from 5pm - 8pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any organization that raises awareness to Veteran suicide.
