Bruce Edward Grindstaff

Bruce Edward Grindstaff, 67, of Poteau, Oklahoma was born February 24, 1955 in Gallipolis, OH and passed from this life August 4, 2022 at Shady Point, Oklahoma. He married Diana Lynn Johnson Grindstaff on January 19, 1980 in Spencer, OK. They were blessed with one son, Christopher Edward Grindstaff.

Bruce was an Electrician by trade and held several licenses in the construction field in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Bruce retired from Fort Smith Public Schools, Ft. Smith, Arkansas where he was the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds for 20 years.

Bruce was preceded in death by his beloved Son Christopher Grindstaff who he loved more than life itself. Parents Harry and Barbara Grindstaff. Parents-in-law Kenneth and Dorothy (Page) Johnson. Brother Todd Grindstaff and wife Paula. Brother-in-law William Lofthouse. Nephew Kenneth Lofthouse Grandparents D. A. and Mary Grindstaff, William and Josephine Craft.

Bruce is survived by his wife Diana of the home. Brother, Michael A. and wife Debbie of Edmond, OK. Sister Robin and husband John Ross of Mustang, OK. Sister-in-law Donna Lofthouse of Woodland, CA. Two special nephews, Michael B. Grindstaff and wife Tricia of Durango Co and Jeffery Grindstaff and wife Coleen of Edmond, OK. Two of the sweetest great nieces in the world, Lynnley Grindstaff and Abigail Grindstaff. Special Bonus Son and friend Matthew Davidson and wife Chelsea of Cleburne, TX who also blessed him with the title of Papa to Rivers and Madilyn Davidson. Uncle Don Grindstaff and wife Shirley of Minnesota. Aunt Renate Craft of Virginia. Pups Bristol, Gracie, and Coco. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside services will be Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Jim Cook officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, OK.

  1. I will Bruce and his congenial personality. Bruise was a caring neighbor to Bob and me when we lived next door to Bruce and his wife Diana. And we loved his sweet son Chris who left this life far too soon. May God bless you, Diana…Nora Stanley
