Kenneth Self


 Kenneth Raymond Self, 80, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 in Poteau.  Kenneth was born November 13, 1941 in Milton, OK to Loyd C. & Jewell (Monks) Self.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Debra Rogers.

 

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; daughter & son in law, Twila Dawn & Donnie Bickford; son & daughter in law, Kenneth Raymond “Rowdy” II & Cindy Self; grandchildren, Jeremy & Shaina Goodman, Marleigh Self, Mickaela Bickford, Javan Self, and J.D. Bickford; great grandchildren, Lily Smalling & Rosalie Goodman; sister, Annette Price; brother, William “Bill” Self; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

 

Services will be 2 pm, Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Cross Community Church, Poteau with Rick Hedrick officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Bokoshe Cemetery.    Pallbearers will be Wesley Morton, Bill Self, Justin Self, Troy Allen Price, George “Dude” Morton, Chris Montgomery.  Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Morton, Adam Morton, Randall Morton, Joseph Morton, Kenneth Wayne Morton, Jacob Morton, William Morton, Joe Reneau, Tony Reneau, John Reneau, Stephen Morton, Daniel Morton, Michael Morton, Chuck Reneau, Little Joe Livers, Josh Harlow.

 

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 pm.  

In lieu of flowers please consider sending Gideon Bibles (contact the funeral home)

  2. Kenneth was one of the best man there ever was love him so much. He will be missed by all. He was my dad when my dad was no longer with us. He loved his JESUS and it showed.

  3. We love and respected Kenneth so much. DR and I have such fond memories of Twila babysitting our kids and us serving along side Kenneth and his family at church.

    DR recalls a time when Kenneth and He shared a bunk at a men's retreat and the wonderful conversations and mentoring Kenneth gave to the younger men. What a wonderful man of God and such an example to us all.

    Praying for you and rejoicing that Kenneth is with our heavenly father!
