Services for Sharon Ann Armstrong will be 2 pm Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Keith Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.
Sharon Ann Armstrong was born on September 7, 1951 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Hoyt and Betty Jo (Baughman) Armstrong. The Lord called her home on April 1, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Hoyt and Betty Jo (Baughman) Armstrong, her sister Linda Qualls, her brother Sherman “Bo” Armstrong, and her niece Ceslianne Armstrong. Sharon is survived by her son Scott Armstrong, her daughter Missy Armstrong, her grandchildren Jace Armstrong-Johnson (Tori Johnson), Morgan Turner, Alexis Armstrong, Erica Armstrong, Daylin Mayes and Trey Sam Mayes, her brother David and wife Rhonda Armstrong, sister Tina and husband Ley Seth, her brother-in-law Derrell Qualls and her many nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
Sharon graduated Poteau High School class of 1970. She was a member of the Library Club, Office Staff, FHA and she was the Library Club Vice President. She attended two years at Carl Albert Junior College. Sharon grew up in the Poteau area and was known as a loving and compassionate daughter, sister, mother, grandma, aunt and loving friend. Sharon enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally. She also enjoyed researching our family genealogy and drinking Coca-Cola.
Sharon had a beautiful, contagious smile with a kind heart. She was a hardworking, outgoing, funny, and a loving friend that would do anything for anyone. Sharon worked at the Grillette Cafe owned by her mother Betty, and the Poteau Tastee Freeze. She was also well known from the Buckaroo and Watermelons, and later went on to work as a convenience store manager and supervisor.
Pallbearers will be Scott Armstrong, Jace Armstrong Johnson, Daylin Mayes, Trey Sam Mayes, David Armstrong, Joe Allen Qualls, Dustin Armstrong, Bryce Armstrong. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ley Seth, Josh Saddler, Joe Hardy.
Visitation will be 5-7 Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to The Gideons and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Sharon Ann Armstrong.
