Lost a good man and my Uncle. He was a quiet man, but when he spoke, his words where well thought out and wise. Uncle Hoyet was gentle and kind.
ReplyDeleteI remember as a young kid about 7-8 years old, he would take me to the sales barn in Wister. As a city kid that was cool. Listening to an auctioneer and trying to understand how it all works.
He took me fishing at Wister Lake.
He led a quiet life his last few years and had a group of friends he visited with almost daily. He lived across the street from Wister Burger. All my family HAD to stop and eat there when we came down from Tulsa. Best burgers around. I remember in teh late 60's when it had a jukebox outside and we would put in a dime to hear one song. Our grandpa, Tom , thought we were wasting our money. LOL
Now it's all just Memories....
