Lutricia Ann “Lucy” McMillin, 63, of Poteau, OK passed
away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at her home in Poteau surrounded by family and friends. Lucy was born January 26, 1956 in
Bakersfield, CA to Howard & Nan (Green) Earven. Lucy
grew up in Arvin, CA and graduated with
the class of 1974. She was a
majorette in the Arvin High Bear Band. She was Student Body President of her
8th grade class at Haven Drive Elementary. She held a record in the high
jump. She was 1971 RCA Rodeo Queen. .
Lucy worked in the potato sheds, taught nursery school and gave many a
little girl baton lessons. After moving
to Oklahoma in 1980, she was the director at the First Free Will Baptist Day
Care and loved on many area children.
She was a member of Delta Lambda Sorority of Beta Sigma Phi. If you ever met Lucy, you loved her. She lit up a room just by walking in it. Lucy had more best friends than most have
friends. Her kids, grandkids, nieces
& nephews meant the world to her and they all knew it. She spread love and sunshine wherever she
went. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Barney & Ruby Green,
Samuel & Catherine Earven.
Survivors include her husband, Don;
daughter, Melissa & Mike Culverson
of Ft. Smith, AR; sons, Clint Bradshaw of Poteau, Cody Bradshaw of Frisco, TX,
Mark & Edie McMillin of Poteau; her parents, Howard & Nan Earven; sister, Marla & Mack Hinds of Heavener,
OK; brothers, Danny & Brenda Earven of Catoosa, OK, Clark Earven, Frank
& Linda Earven all of Heavener; grandchildren, Hunter & Ethan Bradshaw
of Poteau, Jaxon, Grayson & Jace Bradshaw of Frisco, TX, Jake & Demi
McMillin, Kade McMillin, Maci & Tanner Wright all of Poteau, Calli
Culverson of Ft. Smith, AR; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Come celebrate her life with her
family on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at
2 pm, at the Reynolds Center in Poteau
with Rev. Phil McGehee officiating.
Interment will follow in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore. Pallbearers will be Jake & Kade McMillin, Hunter, Ethan, Jaxon
& Grayson Bradshaw, Tanner Hinds. Honorary
pallbearers will be her special friends The PoPo’s.
The family will be at the funeral home
on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
Heaven has received a special angel. We love you Lou. Praying for all the family at this most difficult time.

ReplyDeleteRest in Peace Lucy touched many of hearts. Heaven got a great person. Lucy touched my heart when she worked at the Tote A Poke. Loved to go in there just to see Lucy with that beautiful smile, she would anyones day happy just by her smile. God bless this family I know they will dearly miss this special lady. Prayers for you all,but remember she is not fighting that horrible cancer anymore.

I had the privilege to meet Lucy at the Wee Care Day Care many years ago. She watched over my little boy just like she would her own. In our house she was Miss Lucy and her sister Marla was “gurlfriend” that’s what my so Justin Greeno called her.
