Brian Thompson


Brian Edward Thompson, 45, of Poteau, OK  passed away on July 25, 2018.  Brian was born April 8, 1973 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Brian graduated from Poteau High School and lived most of his life in LeFlore County.  At the time of his passing, Brian was living in Pawhuska, OK and employed by an enterprise of the Pioneer Woman.     Brian will be remembered for his good nature, wry humor, and keen sense of mischief.  Brian’s gentle spirit will live on in his children, whom he greatly adored.  He was an avid outdoor enthusiast and spent his best days with a fishing pole in hand.  He loved arrowhead hunting & antique collecting.   Brian, a big kid himself, loved spending time with all the little people in his life.  Brian will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him.  He was predeceased by his grandparents, William & Charlotte Stephens of Coweta, OK, Elton & Dorene Thompson of Poteau; uncle  Larry Thompson of Poteau, aunt Cecilia Hall of Vera, OK & former father in law, Jay Wilmeth of Poteau.

Brian is survived by his beloved children Kohl, Jantz and Jayden Thompson, all of Van Buren, AR; his mother, Frances Thompson; father, Glenn Thompson & wife Sandra of Poteau, OK;  his sisters, Kelli Thompson & her children, Lexi, Darah  & Brodi of Poteau, Randie Thompson & husband Jon Atkins,  her children Oliver & Annabel of Denver, CO; former spouse  & mother in law, Jennifer Thompson & Gaylene Park of Van Buren, AR; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

          Services will be 10 am, Monday, July 30, 2018, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK  with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Randie Thompson, Dustin McLaughlin, Keith Armstrong, Lyle Thomas, Kohl Thompson, Jantz Thompson & Zac Cook.

          The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm to visit with friends & relatives.
