Dolores Tobey

Dolores Tobey, 90, of Spiro, OK passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in Ft. Smith, AR.      In 1928, Dolores Phillips was born in Bokoshe, Oklahoma. Her parents, Lee Ervin and Claudia Cordelia Phillips, had ten children; Dolores was the youngest. She grew up in Panama, and graduated from Panama High School in 1946. It was in school where she fell in love with her sweetheart and husband of fifty-two years, Dearl Tobey. They married in 1946. Dearl and Dolores had five children, four daughters and one son, and they raised their family in the valley at Hoot Owl Holler. Together, Dearl and Dolores enjoyed spending time with their family at home, on their farm. They also loved to go fishing.
Always feisty and lively, Dolores was never an indoor person. She loved to be outside, playing with her grandkids and great grandkids. She also loved admiring the flowers, trees, and plants, that grew in her yard, as well as in her pasture, and she always took great care in feeding and watering her birds and her dog Skipper.  Most importantly, she cherished having her family at her house for birthday parties and holidays.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her loving husband, Dearl. She leaves behind five children: Dana Hamilton and husband Larry, Darla Anderson, Debbie Bradberry and husband David, Denise Wagner and husband Steve, and Dearl Tobey and wife Cindy. She also leaves five grandchildren and their spouses: Terrick and Krista Ragan, Taira and Eric Nittka,  Casey and Billy Leaptrot, Trey and Stephanie Tobey and Kalee and Dillan Stallings; ten great grandchildren: Britney Harrison, Teran Byrd, Tyler Ragan, Ryan Ragan, Aaron Wilson, Cassidy Wilson, Brigitte Wilson, Tucker Leaptrot, Rylan Tobey and Natalee Stallings; nieces and nephews: Sunny Ross, Adam and Kerry Ross, and Ethan.
