Willie Mae Whitfield, 86, of Spiro, OK passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR. Mrs. Whitfield was born March 25, 1931 in Braden, OK to Elisha & Queen Victoria (Jones) Frazier. She was one of eleven children. She attended Macedonia C.O.G.I.C. at an early age and joined there. She was a devoted wife for 65 years; and a loving mother to 14 children and many others. When asked, “which is your favorite?”, her reply was, “I love them all the same”. She enjoyed gardening, canning and fishing. One of her favorite scriptures was, Romans 13:8…”Owe no man anything, but to love one another; for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.”
Mrs. Whitfield was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel Whitfield; 2 daughters, Beverly (Gus) Wilson, Teresa Simpson; grandson, Cedric; and 9 siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Dollie (Larry) Bowler of Tulsa, OK, Paula Gordon of Spiro, OK, Sharon Steele of Pocola, OK, Wanda Whitfield of Spiro, OK, Terri (Samuel Lee) Green of Spiro, OK, Min. Janet Whitfield of Ball, LA, Yolanda Whitfield (Joe) of Ft. Smith, AR, Monica Whitfield of Spiro, OK, Samuel E. Whitfield of Midwest City, OK, Dennis R.(Shelia) Whitfield of Shawnee, OK, William M. (Joanna) Whitfield of Spiro, OK, Jerry (Melanie) Whitfield of Las Vegas, NM, Ollie Mae (Luster) Harris of Texarkana, AR, Clara Meadows of Idabel, OK; 54 grandchildren; 78 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Douglas (Hazel) Frazier; sisters in law, Joetta Frazier, Altis Ezell; best friend, Jennie Delt; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
