(Conley) Byrd. She grew up in Wewoka, OK the second eldest of 9 children. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Jesse Jenkins; her eldest daughter, Doris Forrest and her youngest son, Anthony

Laverne Warren; brother, Andrew Byrd.
She was grandmother to 5; great grandmother to 11 and great great

Mrs. Jenkins was the church mother at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Poteau,
OK. She enjoyed attending services when
she was able, going bowling, working outside in the yard, visiting with her
sister and singing.
As her
daughter stated, "She was my best friend." I am sure that we can all agree to that. She was an encourager, personable and a good
listener. She loved to laugh and she
cared about people.
Back in the day I remember her getting a paper route for
some of the youth in the community. She
would drive up there in that orange Datsun to pick the papers up for them and
sit there, help them get started rolling them and she went to work. She was a motivator and gave us so many fond
memories and laughs. She was a true
queen who was the epitome of Love and Faith.
Services will be 12:30 pm, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at
Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Poteau, OK.
Interment will follow in Centerpoint Cemetery, Redland, OK.
God received a very special angel, she will be missed by all. She was God's gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Prayers and blessings of comfort for her family and loved ones. Most Sincere Respect Maggie Branscum (Former Activity Dir. at the Oaks)
