Audria E. "Sissy" Roe

Audria  E. "Sissy" Roe, 94, of Wister, OK walked through the gates of Heaven of May 17, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  She was born March 18, 1923 in Kinta, OK.  She was a Christian and a Baptist.  Sissy worked for nearly 70 years as a waitress; she was a server for the Elderhostel Program at Carl Albert State College and a Restaurateur as owner and operator of the Hickory Stick in Heavener, OK.  Though times changed over her 94 years, she never did lose touch with what really matters: family, faith and purpose.  She as a dancer, a practical joker, the family historian, and a story teller without equal.  She laughed easily and often, and she never met a stranger.  Anyone lucky enough to be a friend or a family member had a loyal and fierce advocate.   She was preceded in death by her by her parents, Millard & Perna Bell (Fry) Chronister; her husband of 54 years, John C. "Jack" Roe; daughter, Gloria Lynn Roe; brothers, Denver Ray & Linston C. Chronister; sister, Darlene Chronister; brother in law, Ray Newby and sister in law, Peggy Chronister.

Sissy is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jerry & Colene Perry of Lubbock, TX; sister, Betty Newby of Wister, OK; 4 brothers, Bobby Chronister of Canute, OK, Buford Chronister of Pearland, TX, Eldred Chronister of Poteau, OK, & L.F. Chronister of Broken Arrow, OK; 4 sisters in law, Jeanie Chronister & Grace Chronister of Wister, OK, Mary Chronister of Poteau, OK & Shirley Chronister of Pearland, TX; granddaughter, Kristina Graham of Tucson, AZ; 2 grandsons, Steven Perry & wife Samantha of Houston, TX, Shane Jamison & wife Koko of New Orleans, LA; and an army of devoted nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at San Bois Cemetery in Kinta, OK at 5 pm, Sunday, May 21, 2017 with Rev. Kelly Chronister officiating.
