Loten Gene Slate, 80, of
Wister, OK passed away Tuesday, March 7,
2017 in Ft. Smith, AR. Loten was born May
24, 1936 in Wister, OK to Edgar &
Ruth (Qualls) Slate. He worked at
Whirlpool for 37 years and 10 years of
LeFlore County District #2
before retiring to work on the farm.
Loten is a veteran of the US Air Force.
Survivors include his wife
of 61 years, Margie Slate of the home; 3 daughters, Debbie Decker of Heavener,
OK, Linda & Paul Mode of Monroe, OK, Donna Brown of Park Hill, OK; 6
grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Joe & Shirley Slate of
Paris, TX; many nieces and nephews; close friends who will miss him dearly.
Services will be 2 pm,
Thursday, March 9, 2017 of Ellis Chapel Church, Wister, OK with Jim Seale
officiating. Interment will follow in
Ellis Chapel Cemetery.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.
