CLIFF HAMLIN



 Clifford Gene Hamlin, 78, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Nashville, TN.  Cliff was born June 9, 1938 in Oklahoma City, OK to Clifford Charles & Geneva Murray (Pulley) Hamlin.  He was a veteran of the US Army.  Cliff was a member of the First Christian Church in Poteau.  He served on the board of LeFlore County Youth Services, was a member of Lion's Club for 25 years, and served as a Reserve Police Officer in Poteau.  He & his brothers owned & operated Hamlin's Mfg. Company in Poteau, for many years.   He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Russell Gene Hamlin (12/9/1989); brothers, Charles Arthur Hamlin & Philip Murray Hamlin.



Cliff was an honest, faithful & caring man of strong convictions, who deeply loved his wife, family & friends. He carried the weight & responsibilities of this life with much grace! He always put the needs of others first and was quick to offer a smile and some humor, to all those whom he encountered.  



Survivors include his wife, Martha Dean Plummer Hamlin; sons, Clifford Alpheus Pounders of  LA, CA, Jonathan Eric Hamlin & daughter-in-law, Christy DeLude Hamlin of Poteau, OK; daughter, Jennifer Angelic Hamlin Skinner of  Murfreesboro, TN;  grandchildren, Ericka Miller Flores, Rebecca, Joshua & Caleb Hamlin; brother, David Hamlin; sisters-in-law, Nancy Hamlin, Mary Ann Hamlin, Aleen Hamlin; Doris Crouch , brother-in-law, Leon Plummer and wife Peggy; niece, Dena Hamlin; other nieces, nephews, relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK .  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. 



The family will be at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
