Kelly F. Beard



Kelly Farrell Beard, 52, of Pocola , OK passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 in Pocola.  Kelly was born November 12, 1961 in Ft. Smith , AR to Armon & Gaylene (Ketchum) Beard.  He was a retired teacher/police officer. Kelly had Bachelors in Education from NSU where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He taught 1 year in Hartford Public Schools & 10 years at Pocola Public Schools.  He was a church league baseball coach in Ft. Smith , AR for 10+ years; 10+  years he spent as a law enforcement officer in LeFlore & Haskell Counties.  He was preceded in death by his mother; niece, Kendra (Beard) Bailey and his father in law, Tod Oliver.



Survivors include his wife, Mickie of the home; Mother in law Audrey Oliver of Pocola, OK;  sons, Clay & Janet Barnes of Smithville, OK, Aron Barnes of Pocola, OK; grandchildren, Cheyenne & Kayeton Barnes; brothers, Greg & Brenda Beard of Ozark, AR, Terry Beard of Bossier City, LA, Randy & Lisa Beard of Dyer, AR; sister, Kitty Beard of Dyer, AR; nieces, Christie Childers, Jenna Beard, Briana Beard, Shannon Ray; nephews, Jeff Beard, Chris Beard, Brett Beard,  Chris Henretty.




Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Evans & Miller Memorial Chapel, Pocola , OK with Rev. Carl Cheshier and Phil Cheshier officiating.  Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery , Pocola , OK .  Pallbearers will be Greg Graham, Brian Hale, Jeremy French, David Hughart, Trey Jackson, Dane Burgess, Mark McKenzie.   Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Beard, Terry Beard, Randy Beard, Keith Patton, Roger Lairamore, & Cody Jackson



In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Kendra Voice Inc. at Bank of the Ozarks Acct 2004010167


The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5-7 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

  2. Kelly was a good man. i dispatched for him at Pocola PD. He was always kind to me and always took time for me.. If i just needed to talk he was always there . He Loved his wife and family so very much.. i am sorry I haven't been able to visit with you (te family. i have had alot of medical problems, but i will visit with you on tuesday.. i thank God for bringing kelly into my life.. i hope you find peace in knowing he's with

    God now... we will miss him but never forget him in our heart. he left a wonderful legacy for all of us..

  4. I've known Kelly since he worked at Haskell County Sheriff's Dept. He was a great deputy and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kelly's family and friends. Rest in Peace Deputy Beard E.O.W 11-14-2013
