My dearest mommy ... I miss you! Where do I find the words to express to you the deepest appreciation for all that you have done for me? To hold your hand as you took your last gasp of air will be mine forever ... what an honor to be present as you were ushered into heaven. I am so sorry that you had to suffer with Parkinson's disease, your greatest enemy, but now you and daddy are together again. I will miss our kisses, our visits, our walks, our crazy shopping sprees. I thank you for your labor of love. Mom, I have no words, for I am numb. Thanks for never taking the path of least resistence and for giving faith a fighting chance. Thank you for living with a big heart and an open door and for handing down that legacy to me. You taught me to look for the good in every person and in every situation. Thanks for teaching me how to approach life with a positve spirit and a sense of fun rather than with self-pity. Your passing has given me a better understanding of God's presence. I know that He will always be there for me ... Mommy, I love you and I thank you for everything! See you when I get there, my queen!!!! My heart hurts but I celebrate without a doubt your NEW home with Christ Jesus!!!! xoxo Lolly
ReplyDeleteDear Grandma,
ReplyDeleteAs I sit here remembering you, I think of the green beans ... You always had a can waiting for me. You loved to spoon feed them to me. How funny! Grandma, I love you so very much! I miss our walks down the dirt road of Hamilton Street. I miss it all. Hey, I still carry a wallet you bought for me one Christmas years ago.
Grandma, you are just like mom but with more frosting! I love that quote! And you love cake frosting! Grandma, I will never forget you and you know that. Now I leave you with the greatest quote ... WE ONLY PART TO MEET AGAIN!!!!
Please give gramps a big hug for me! Tell him that I miss him! You both deserve a night on the town of heaven so go to a drive - in movie or take a walk on the golden streets! I will take care of mom down here. I promise. I love you so much, grandma. Have you seen Gooshie yet? ha!
Love always,
Ali
P.S. You were such a trooper here in Oklahoma City. Parkinsons lost because YOU are the one with Jesus! You won the race !!!!
Mom, I will always hold you in my thoughts and in my heart. Thank you for all the pretty recent memories. Your June 20 birthday party was memorable. I will forever miss your sweet smile and your last " I love you, Becky". and " Becky, you wouldn't happen to have any chocolate" ? and your smile after I gave you some. Mom, thank you for your life and your wonderful legacy that you have given to us.I love you much more than mere words can express.Always!! Love your daughter, Becky
ReplyDeleteMy precious mother,
ReplyDeleteOh, how I miss you! Although you are no longer in our presence, I have God's promise that you are in His, rejoicing in heaven.
I just want to thank you for always being there for me and for my daughters. You walked with me through my struggles as well. You were always there whenever I needed you. Your love never failed.
You taught my beautiful daughters how to give. I thank you.
Your strength has made me so strong. I never dreamed that a woman could be this mighty, especially my mother. You are the best!
I can still smell the roasts that you would cook and that awesome fried corn. Mother, you had the neighbors coming over! ha!
You are not gone. You live in my heart forever. Jackey and Merry Ann love you and miss you sooooo very much. You are their special 'DAH' and I will always be your little 'DOBIE'...
Serenity Hope ( great grandaughter) was on her toy phone the day of your passing. She was trying to talk to you.
Aaliyah Faith ( great grandaughter) told her mommy that her Grandma Dah was now in heaven with her daddy. These little children were very aware of your passing, mother.
I will leave you with this verse .... " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
1 Timothy 4:7
You gave me the perspective I lacked, and most of all, you gave me hope.
Eternally, Debbie
Dah, I love you so very much and want you to know how very proud I am of you for everything you have done and accomplished throughout your life long journey. You have suffered for many years and I know you were more than ready to join Jesus and Grandpa Shaw in heaven. I will always cherish our memories together..I will never forget our walks to town together, playing with Daisy together, cooking together, and everything else you taught me. I have been through alot in my short 21 years, but have always had the strength to get through it and I can honestly say you took a big part in that. Your strength was passed down to me! You were the strongest woman I have ever met in my life Dah. I told Aaliyah that you joined Jesus and she said "Well its okay mommy, now shes with my Daddy in heaven!" It broke my heart in a million tiny pieces, but put a smile on my face at the same time. I said, "Your right babygirl, we have so many wonderful angels watching over us now!" She smiled and said, "yes we do" :)I made the pasta salad you use to make for me the other day, and of course..I thought of you. Everytime I pass a Long John Silvers, guess what Dah,it reminds me of you. I have so many great memories growing up, and lots of them have to do with you! You were an awesome grandmother, for sure! I wish we could have had more great times together, But I am sure God needed the best, and so he took you (: Give Grandpa Shaw and Justin a hug and kiss for me, and tell them we love them!! You are going to be missed so very very much, but your memory lives on!!! I LOVE YOU DAH!
ReplyDeleteLove Merry Ann, Kyle & Aaliyah <3
We are so sorry to hear about Donna. She sure did love all you kids. Every time we saw her she mentioned you all and expressed her concerns for you. If one of you were coming home she was always so anxious to see you. The cool thing is, that she is now 'Home' eternally, and can't wait to see you at her new residence. God Bess her, and may she rest in perfect peace.
