Denver Ray Chronister, 83, of Wister, OK passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 in Fort Smith, AR. Denver was born June 18, 1928 in Kinta, OK to M.L. & Perna (Fry) Chronister. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the first draft of the Korean War . Denver was retired from Pacific Gas & Electric of California. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Wister, OK. Denver was a beloved husband, father, granddad, brother & uncle.
Survivors include his wife, Grace of the home; sisters, Audria Roe & Betty Newby of Wister, OK; brothers & sisters in law, twin-Landsey Fay Chronister, Eldred & Mary Chronister of Poteau, OK, Bobby Chronister of Canute, OK, Linston & Jeanie Chronister of Wister, OK, Buford & Shirley Chronister of Houston, TX, Jerry & Coline Perry of Lubbock, TX; 3 stepdaughters, Gena & Randy Drake of Santa Maria, CA, Susie & John Nurick of Yukon, OK, Donna & George Gage III of Wister, OK;
7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; 16 nieces & nephews; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be 10 am, Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church in Wister, OK with Rev. Clyde Steelman and Rev. Kelly Chronister officiating. Interment will follow in San Bois Cemetery in Kinta, OK. Pallbearers will be Mark Chronister, Jeffrey Chronister, Timmy Chronister, George Gage III, Jonathan Gage, Stephen Nurick.
The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
