William Walker Wann
William Walker Wann, 93, of Wister, OK passed away Monday, August 17, 2009 in Poteau, OK. Walker was born March 6, 1916 in Booneville, AR to Omer W. & Ester (Harwell) Wann. He was a farmer/rancher. He worked for LeFlore County District # 2 for 43 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wister, OK. Walker loved to garden. His wife, Nell Wann; brothers, Everett, Herman, Doug, Melbourn, & Burt Wann; sister, Ethel Wisely & his parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Janice & Auther Vise of Wister, OK; son & daughter in law, David & Marjorie Wann of Poteau, OK; 4 grandchildren, David Vise, Denise Collins, Ashley Taylor, & Cody Wann; 8 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Bonnie Raines & June Wann; brother, Warren Wann; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be held 2 pm, Thursday, August 20, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Wister, OK with Rev. Brian Fields officiating. Interment will be in Maxey Cemetery - Wister, OK. Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Pierce, Jake Collins, Josh Collins, Brock Vise, Steve Taylor, & Cody Wann. Honorary pallbearers will be Carrell Vaughn, Fred Allison, Jim Seale, & Cliff Morgan. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm, at the funeral home.
