GERALD CURTIS NEFF
Gerald Curtis Neff, 73, of Poteau, OK went to his heavenly home March 28, 2009. He was born in Poteau, OK to Lucille (Frank) & Curtis Neff February 20, 1936. He was a Farmer's Insurance Agent in Poteau for 31 years. In his younger years he was a professional truck driver for Johnson Controls. He was past Lions International District 3K Governor & he received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the highest honor of the Lions Club Int'l Foundation. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Poteau. He and Elizabeth Eck were married on October 19, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, mother & father in law, Chloia & Fred Eck; and daughter, Jann Neff Ethen.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth; daughters, Lisa Leming of OKC, Christy & Kenneth Jones of Haskell, OK; son in law, Mark Ethen of OKC; 7 grandchildren, Jake & Jaime Leming, Leah Leming of Poteau, OK, Luke & Dusty Leming of Gilbert, AZ, Katie & Stephen Ethen of OKC, Sarah & Aaron Jones of Haskell; 2 great grandchildren, Rebekah & Kylie Leming; 2 great grandchildren expected in August; mom, Vivian Frank Tullis & brother, Howard Frank & Lynda of Broken Arrow, OK; sisters in law, Freda & husband John Reed of Poteau, Donna Mitchell of Owasso, Darline & husband Bill Best of Tulsa; devoted employees & friends, Tonia Johnson & Stacee Midgley; special friends, Jim & Anita Estes family.
Services: 2 pm, Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at First Christian Church, Poteau. Dennis Jones & Tracy Ellis officiating. Interment Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK - Pallbearers, Jake & Luke Leming, Johnny Reed, Denny Casey, Kenney Casey, Doug Casey, Mike Reif; honorary pallbearers, Jim Estes, John Reed, Veachel Davis, Charlie Been, F.L. HOlton, Dick Winters, Stephen Ethen, Aaron Jones.
